• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The 'Macro-Micro' thing....again..

The brontosaurus was an accident when people put the head of one species accidentally on the body of another.
Oh ... it's "people" now? not "scientists"?

"People" make mistakes ... "scientists" don't?

Scientists are people, you know. Yes, they were scientists, and thankfully, they had the expertise to realize when the saw the head they dug up later that it matched the skeleton better than the one that was associated with it before. Eventually.

Hi, Riberra.

Nice to meet you and welcome to CF!

Yes, I am absolutely sure of that.

No, it isn't.

Adam was formed five days later.

Notice that "heaven" is singular in Genesis 1:1, but plural in Genesis 2:1?

This is because first, second, and third heavens were created on three different days.

If there was a substantial gap between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, then "heaven" in Genesis 1:1 should be plural ... not singular.
Thanks for the welcoming! :)
Which version of the Bible are you using?
I ask that because only in KJV Bible the word Heaven is singular. It is plural in the other Bible Version.

Genesis 1 Parallel Chapters

I have not verified in all the other Bible versions available online .

People can make mistakes
Scientists are people
Scientists can make mistakes.
The thing that I immediately caught was your word choice.

Standard scientific PR.

It may have been a faux pas on your part, but others are adept at covering their tracks with such word play.

A friend of ours used to work for the government, and she had a list of terms you DON'T use when dealing with the public.

Such stuff as "trajectory error" insted of "miscalculation" is commonplace with NASA.

I have no desire to word stuff differently to cover up stuff or to make my position look better than it is.

I understand.

I don't think you did it intentionally.

(But I won't say what made you do it, either.)

I know what you are implying, and trust me, no demon or devil could handle me. I am too stubborn :p they would give up.

There is a better version called" walk in shoe leather" version. That's the one God cares about. ;)
Well it certainly isn't the NIV, which has the Tabernacle in the Wilderness covered with porpoise (or seal) skins.
