  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It might sound like a silly question AV but what is the English for 'bungalow' and 'bicycle'?

My answer might sound silly, but would it be "bungalow" and "bicycle"?
That's exactly why I asked, 'bungalow' is an Indian word brought into English when there was a lot of British people in India, 'bicycle' is a Latin word concocted when the bicycle was invented, there is no English words for bungalow or bicycle, there have been many thousands of words brought into English in the last 300 years.

If you were able to transport yourself back to 1940 there would be about 3000 words in your vocabulary now that you could not use because they wouldn't know what you were talking about, go back 300 years and we would be aliens.

When the bible was translated the opposite was true, it was more like guess work than translation, people simply made stuff up.

True, the original text was working with a very limited vocabulary, which has lead to many unfortunate mistranslations.

You mean like calling God YAHWEH, instead of JEHOVAH?

You won't take the parts that are in plain English and use them.

So please don't tell me the KJB has some obscure confusing language in It and expect me to accept that.

If the KJB is obscure, it's because you guys obscure It -- on purpose.

I love asking those who do not believe in the KJB this question, just to see how they respond, which says a lot about them:

What is Satan's angelic name?

(We'll see what's obscure and what isn't, won't we? ;))

Samael, I think, I might be spelling it wrong. It is hard to remember some of those angel and demon names, they are so strange, and I have a rough time with names in general. Then again, that might be the angel of death, ugh.

Names in the bible are consistent, the issue is is that words often have multiple meanings and it makes them harder to translate.

The verse that says women shall not speak in church is a mistranslation, the word should be chatter, or gossip.

My theory is that, since God changed Lucifer's name to Satan, Satan has people call God YAHWEH.

They say -- (and I'm not sure I believe it) -- but they say that one of the marks of demon possession is that you can't get a person to talk about the Blood of Christ.

Along that line, I believe that one of the marks of demon oppression is that you can't get a person to say Satan's angelic name, unless they really try hard.

Wait, you think Lucifer was Satan's angelic name?
Also, god calls itself Yahweh in the bible, it means, oh gosh, was it "I am all" or is that Allah? Anyway, Yahweh is more of a phrase than an actual name, and it is actually spelled YHWH. How it is pronounced is not actually certain, the spelling Yahweh is a phonetic spelling of what the best guess is to how YHWH should be pronounced.

Impressive.

Lucifer mentioned 1 time.

God as YAHWEH mentioned 5 times (including mentioning how it should be pronounced).

My theory isn't that far off, is it?

So......the count of biological mechanisms to prevent 'macro evolution' stands at..........................zero....!
Well, let's make it "one," if zero bothers you; shall we?

I'm easy.

I submit that our DNA was twisted in the Fall -- (like a twisted ankle) -- rendering macroevolution impossible, even with deep time.

Before, when there was no death, our DNA was straight.

If you can't substantiate it, don't worry.

I just didn't want you to go away with nothing.

We are looking for evidence, not the submission of fantasies.
Keep looking.

I'll tell you where to look.

Remember the Jews' itinerary I gave you from the Bible?

Have you found 2,000,000 fossils yet? or even one?

You guys are getting backlogged.

Quit standing around asking questions and go find something.

Sic em, scientists! Go git 'em!

Hard to say. Unfortunately, there isn't much of a consensus on what Lucifer pertains to. Sources, both religious and secular, all have some disparity on the matter. It doesn't help that the bible isn't very descriptive in regards to demons or hell really, and while the New Testament makes an effort to fill in some of the blanks, there is still a lot that is unclear, in terms of scripture. I have seen sources that suggest Lucifer and Satan are two different beings entirely.

If you think about it, Heaven isn't described all that well either.

Not sure if you actually found what I said before impressive or not...

In which place can we find the evidence for this barrier that stops macroevolution?

You do realize that even if that many people had crossed the desert, most would not have fossilized, right?

Well, since we've sequenced the human genome, please point out the location of the mechanism. If you're stating that it's the double helix which creates the 'barrier', please explain how it so functions.....? How would a "straight" formation permit "macro" evolution, but a spiral shape prevent it...?

Your theory that people who are possessed by demons can't say 'Lucifer', except even if they can they still might be possessed?

Yes, I'm sure you'll identify many candidates for demonic possession that way, brilliant.

That's because unbelievers are involved in the equation.

I know exactly who Lucifer is, where he came from, and where he's going.

What more do you want? pictures?

I'll tell you this much:

The Bible describes demons and Hell a lot more than any 10 scientists ever have, or ever will.

Born again scientists or otherwise.
