So you're holding open the possibility that Mussolini or JFK, let's say, just MIGHT have been perfect humans? Hmmmm.Only God knows who has reached a point where they have walked perfectly.
Does anyone agree or disagree with this understanding rick posted on page 18, post 347?
Ignoring the problem of sin does not make it go away. By what you have said to me so far, you are giving me the impression that we do not have to do anything for God and that we can sin and still be saved. Is that true? For if it is, then that sounds like you want all the benefits of being a servant of the Kingdom but you cannot actually be bothered with being a servant because you would prefer creating a version of salvation where you focus on a picture of Jesus instead of actually knowing Him and His love (that would move you to love others in all you say and do - According to His Word). At least, that is the impression I am getting by what you believe. Whether that is what you believe is another matter. But I am just telling you what your belief sounds like to me based on what you said so far.No longer living as one weighed in the balance, my focus is on Christ, not myself. That is the inescapable problem with your ideas. Sin is self-focus, self-interest, selfishness. Grace is the only way of escaping the prison of self. Your spiritual economy allows for no humility because true humility is best described by C.S. Lewis, “Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.”. Your religion doesn't allow you that, Jason.

He needs to be a little more specific in what he is saying. Believe what about God's Word? Obviously, I am sure he means the gospel. But this the key ingredient or detail that needs to be there so as not confuse others (who may not know or who may take his word at face value).Does anyone agree or disagree with this understanding rick posted on page 18, post 347?
I disagree. I am not "once saved". I am continually saved by my Savior....it's what He does.
Ok Steeno, Remember, You weren't saved, then you are being saved continuously. How did you get from one to the other ? What made Gods Word that was previously not yours to being yours? Fulfilling the once saved part of the osas. I can't help but notice the voices that preach "always saved" are silent on the "Once saved" topic.
Yes, but your definitions of hearing God's word must comply with parameters established in Psalm 19.Hear and believe Gods Word, then we are saved, thus completing the first part (once saved) of the osas. Is this accurate?
Who said I "weren't saved"?
Yes, but your definitions of hearing God's word must comply with parameters established in Psalm 19.
[1] The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
[2] Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
[3] There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
[4] Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
I can't help but notice the voices that preach "always saved" are silent on the "Once saved" topic.
It might be because you talk in riddles. Please rephrase your question.
Recap. You agreed to discuss osas. naturally we need to start at the beginning of the phrase. "once saved" we all were in a state of not being saved, what did "you" do to be saved? I've been asking the same question, I don't know how to rephrase it for you, but will gladly continue the discussion if you like.
Unless we are saved out of the womb, at one point we were all in an unsaved state of being ?
What do we do to be "once saved?)" Fulfilling the Once saved part of osas?
Are you not reading it say His glory (the gospel) is heard thru His creation? Are you saying Psalm 19 is how we are saved? By hearing and believing?
Obviously
I wasn't "once" saved. I am continually being saved.
That would bring on an entirely different conversation, as I would answer that question much differently than you would. But, then again, this truly is the root problem. So, you asked.
I did nothing to be saved. I was saved, like an unconscious person is saved from a burning building. He is the Savior; I am the saved. Consider the word "saved". Even asking what you did to be saved is an odd question.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5heb predestined us for adoption to sonshipc through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9hed made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
11In him we were also chosen,e having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
