Sorry to tell you, but they are all supported with evidence even in GPS as time and gravity are related as Einstein predicted.

Its upto you to demonstrate the view their discoveries are 'unsupported' with all the evidence was laid bare in the documentary!

...but dad thinks he has craftily maneuvered us around so as to avoid that nasty burden of proof. What a genius.

Do you think Jesus would be impressed with this tactic? I doubt it. No sense of humour, that guy, and I'm sure he wouldn't have patience for this.

What do you think, dad?

I don't care what Dad thinks. What Dad thinks is pure and utter nonsense.

If Jesus were alive today, then he'd be a stand up comedian and Dad would be the punchline to one of his jokes.

I think that you foundational belief in a present state as the key to the past needs support.

Both Dad,AV and CTD seem to think they are winning the argument just by saying 'unsupported' and off the cuff remarks like that....continiuously. At least AV comes up with his vies (see my signature) as an alternative. What saddens me is neither of them will win over you to Christ with stances like that.
My view is that I have no conflict with a faith in Christ and my study of science; in fact in compliments one another and having done theology and studied writing styles in the bible understand the difference between poetry and literalism.
As Einstein once said, " I want to know the mind of God"

Einstein predicted that gravity distorts space time and they found that the GPS satelites orbiting the earth had time running faster than here on earth. The consequences of that would mean that gps would not work.
Irrelevant! The earth zone is not an issue. Nor earth space.
We can also observe moons orbiting planets,

Same as above.
we can see stars orbiting eachpther in binary systems so the same laws apply 'much further out' because gravity exists everywhere in the universe.
False dichotomy. We also see atoms orbiting, and Ezekiel saw angels going round God's star. (or wheel). So? Stuff going round does NOT mean it goes round as a planet with our laws....
The onus is on you to disprove Einstein, the observations made by Hubble.
As shown, that is false. I accept Einstein for the earth zone, or fishbowl!
So I name 2 related discoveries for you to 'pull apart', gravity and relativity.

Go on then!
Excellent. ...They do not need pulling apart. Not near earth. So? You see, you need to extend them to deep space.

I think that you foundational belief in a present state as the key to the past needs support.

Vary simple, all that one needs to do is look through a large telescope (like Hubble) and you are observing the universe 'in a past state', as you are looking back in time, due to the fact the objects are many light years away.

Nonsense. Unless we are looking through space that is our own, none of what we see can be measured by earth zone rules and measures.

Well, unless you can prove it was the same, there is no need. ..Go on?

Yes there is.

Things stay the same unless something changes them

What changed the universe, and can you prove something changed the universe?

I was 'theismless' for my first 38 years or so, but I used to say 'God is in the details'. With my kids getting to 'asking questions' stage, I went on a bit of a science and religion bender. I respect others' beliefs, but dad is making a mockery of god concept. Does dad imagine Jesus as a con man? a little shell game player? Guess under which cup is the ball? Good gravy, even I think more of Jesus, even if I don't see evidence of his divinity.

Have you ever seen the comedy series "Jam"?

There's this one sketch where there's this corporation that use "stupid people" to win arguments for people because they're too stupid to realise they've lost.

I'd post it but it swears so I can't, but if you want to check it out search "Jam Thick People" on youtube.

The parallels between that and people like AV and Dad are hilarious.

So you do not accept that the present is the key to the past, as geology and much of so called science does?

More mud. Broken record is broken.

dad said:
I have no reason to believe gravity as we know it existed. The forces and balance of forces may have been quite different. Ever wonder how they built the early pyramids?

Oops. I'm sorry. Did I quote you out of context from old post of yours?

Who said creation was Godless?

I have found Jesus.

But, you don't need to attack my faith, just because I understand creation completely different to you.

Jesus never conned anyone. He clearly identified Himself as God the creator. He talked of the flood. Jesus held up the scriptures that included Genesis, and even chatted with Moses.

He said this heaven and earth will pass away too. That means this state we know. The realities and life processes, and physical only world we live in.

Obviously a lot shifted from the time of Eden, or the flood as well. The only thing you need to shift is using the temporal physical only present realities on the ground to fabricate how things were and will be.
