so there's no everlasting life then?

'Eternal punishment' in Matt 25:46 can be read as:
  • eternal correction (ie corrected irrevocably, fixed once-and-for-all)
  • punished in eternal fire (it's eternal punishment for the devil see v.41)
  • punished indefinitely until saved (as in 'saved but as through fire')
Comforting to know that the Spirit doesn't leave us guessing. For further and better particulars, Rev 20-22, Ez 47:1-12 and Is 60 and 66 among others teach just what will actually happen: the lake of fire is the blood of the Lamb (ie life of Christ) which consumes death and sin (as per Calvary), producing transformation and rebirth. So life in Christ is the life eternal once death is destroyed and sin is cleansed. Halleluja, God is good, victory is complete.

Dear Shrewd: Our God takes no prisoners! His entire work of metamorphoo is change & transformation in which crawling creatures become heavenly manifestations of grandeur.

Uh huh ...Come on back to Bible

Dear W: The Lord Jesus Christ says>>>

"You pour over the Scriptures because you presume/ suppose in them you possess everlasting life"

BUT

"they testify of Me/ points to Me/ bear witness of Me."

and you are unwilling to come to Me, that you may have life.

It should be, it's HIS STORY.

And don't be slandering His holy name with that rubbish about a mass human bbq. Or you might just reap what you sow.

Dear Shrewd: Our Heavenly Father, most intimately referred to as Abba, instructs His followers to forgive 70X7. When those totals reach 490 all forgiveness stops?

The forgiveness totals are the least of the problem! Our ghastly representation of the perfect Father requires major change and repentance.

MAJOR!

Fire is a great cleanser, purifier, and changer.

We all know that a horse must be broken, that is, its will must be broken before it is of any practical use to man.

God put that will in the horse, but it must be broken and made to conform to the will of man. Just as surely did God put the will in man, but it must be broken and we will benefit by the very process of breaking.

Man may do a lot of crying and wailing, but when he is broken to his will, what a wonderful condition it is.

God may take man over some rough places, even through the Lake of Fire and brimstone (theion), but the love of God will break every man to His will.

If you think the Kingdom of God is rosewater, or eau-de-cologne, you are mistaken. You cannot war on the devil with that. You cannot war on the carnal minds of men with that. You have to make war on the world, the flesh, and the devil with a sword sharper than any twoedged sword. You have to make war on the carnal mind with fire, Divine Fire that must burn up every inherent altar of Baal, and lick up the very dust around.

It goes on to state we ALL go through the 2nd death, the overcomer is not harmed by it, all are broken (then repaired) by it.

God is good, He doesn't throw the baby away, just the dirty bath water.

You are correct! What you fail to remember is that refining and soap is for His Children. The unbeliever is not known by God and cast away for ainios punishment while the believer is sent into ainios life.

And if you could quote Scripture instead of philosophy that the Lake of Fire is only temporary, you would win many converts to this heretical thought--even me! But you cannot and you know you cannot unless you break all rules of grammar and hermeneutics so you continue with a heretical philosophical response!

Big Guy: Our God IS Fire. He is not temporary. The Lake of Theos radiates with exactly the same FIRE and will accomplish His goals with complete satisfaction to Him!

Welcome to our God!

It's not just about the LOF being temporary... it's about the entirety of scripture harmonising with itself. If your position is that the majority of humanity will be tormented forever, without end, then what do you do with the concept of the first fruits?
There's an awful lot of scripture you have to disregard, if you hold to the doctrine of ET.

Exactly.

1 Corinthians 15:22-24
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.

Evidently a "Bible" version (KJV?) contradiction with:

Lam.3:31For the Lord will NOT cast off FOR EVER:
32But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
33For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve THE CHILDREN OF MEN. (KJV, emphasis mine)

Rev.14:9-11 & 20:10 & forever & ever a deceptive translation:
If endless conscious torments were true, is God a monster?

OK, so now explain to me how your interpretation of that verse works in harmonisation with this scripture.

Exo 23:14 Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
Exo 23:15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
Exo 23:16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
Exo 23:17 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.
Exo 23:18 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.
Exo 23:19 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

Your interpretation of Revelation, makes this above verse make no sense.
