the Lake is figurative, which makes our God, the Fire God also figurative.
Death and hades will be throne into the lake of fire.
Not a good way to preserve anything.
A Lake of Ice would preserve things much better.
The same misery...but things would last longer.
Or just a dark cave perhaps.
But a sulphur fire burns hot and consumes everything, like Death and hades.
Our Sun - Solar System is around 5 billion years old and has another 5 billion years to go. The geometry of the universe is, at least on a very large scale, elliptic. In a closed universe, gravity eventually stops the expansion of the universe, after which it starts to contract until all matter in the universe collapses to a point, a final singularity termed the "Big Crunch", the opposite of the Big Bang.
I don't cover what I've never heard of. Answering every question is not my calling in life.Dear Sky: You still have not defined the God of sulphur in koine.
Dear Sky: You still have not defined the God of sulphur in koine.

The Lake Of Fire Post #96

Since becoming of the view that the destruction of 1st century Jerusalem and the OC Temple was being symbolized as the Great City in Revelation, I decided to delve into the word Jesus used when speaking to the Judean Rulers in Matthew 23. [The Matt 24 Jerusalem/Temple discourse immediately follows it]
Our Lord mentions the phrase "son of gehenna" and one that I had never really looked closely at until just recently, which is referenced in the Hebrew OT.
Genesis 1:1 (YLT)
G1067 γέεννα (geenna), occurs 12 times in 12 verses
Matthew 23:
15 'Woe to ye Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
That ye are going about the sea and the dry to make one proselyte, and whenever he may be becoming,ye are making him a son of gehenna twofold more of yourselves.
33 "Serpents! brood of vipers!
how? ye may be fleeing from the judging<2920> of the Gehenna
Yes. Smoldering burning garbage pile that stinks.
I see that "SkyWriting" just landed on a new thread I created

GEHENNA<G1067> "Lake of Fire" "Valley of Hinnon" 1st century Judea/Jerusalem
There is living water and there is stagnant water which can result in death. Dead religion is stagnant because there is no fresh flow of water from the throne of God.Water is symbolic of change.

Rev 22 "1 Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the main street of the city. On either side of the river stood a tree of life, producing twelve kinds of fruit and yielding a fresh crop for each month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse."
Faith in God.
Amen dear brother.Dear LittleLamb of the Master of Reconciliation: As long as Sky lands in the Fire with the rest of us sinners, our mission will have been blessed of God!
The big crunch is like a black hole where gravity is so strong that light does not escape. Yet we are told that God is light and there is no darkness in Him. We are told in Isaiah 34:4 "And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree."Dear Joshua: assuming this is all true, what would be your conclusion of the Big Crunch?
The idea of stagnant water comes from a study of the Hebrew letters that are used to write the Torah. As compared to the living water that flows from the throne of God.Your scripture makes no mention of a stagnant water idea.

Tyson tells us that the balance between matter and antimatter is a billion to a billion and one. If it were not for that one in a billion then the universe would self annihilate and only photons would be left.
"Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." I Corinthians 3:13-15 (KJV)
Actually it is not a reference to the lake of fire!
It is teh judgment for believers only known as the bema seat judgment. Here a believers works are judged for the basis of reward or not! Everyone whop appears before the Bema of god is qualified or saved- but their works are being judged, not them.

Hello joshua. The idea of stagnant water comes from a study of the Hebrew letters that are used to write the Torah. As compared to the living water that flows from the throne of God.
The O is a symbol for stagnant water that does not flow. The letter C is open to the future but closed to Heaven, Earth and the Past. The letter n is open to the things of the earth and this moment in time. But closed to the past, future and heaven. This is refered to as archetypal energy and it's flow. There are other words we can use: paradigm, pattern, type, parables. Even allegory, metaphor, homiletic and so on.
======================="The ancient supply [ of Jerusalem] appears to have been obtained from springs, wells, the collection of rain in pools and cisterns, and water brought from a distance by aqueducts. The extensive remains of cisterns, pools and aqueducts show that little dependence was placed on any natural springs existing in or near the city". Wilson and Warren (1871): The Recovery of Jerusalem page 17
Deuteronomy 28:The flames which enveloped the Temple were so violent and impetuous, that the lofty hill. on which it stood appeared, even front its deep foundations, as one large body of fire...
Revelation 18:
10 From afar<3113> having stood because of the fear of the tormenting<929> of Her saying"Woe! woe! the great City Babylon! the strong City! That to one hour came the judging<2920> of Thee.
18 And they cried<2896>, observing the smoke of Her firing<4451>, saying, "What like to the great City?"
Revelation 9:6.........The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover. At this season multitudes came up from all the surrounding country, and from distant parts,...........
Meanwhile the horrors of famine grew still more melancholy and afflictive. The Jews, for of food were at length compelled to eat their belts, their sandals, the skins of their shields, dried grass, and even the ordure of oxen. In the depth or this horrible extremity,
a Jewess of noble family urged by the intolerable cravings of hunger, slew her infant child, and prepared it for a meal ; and had actually eaten one half thereof, when the soldiers, allured by tile smell of food, threatened her with instant death if she refused to discover it............
At the recital of this melancholy and affecting occurrence, the whole city stood aghast, and poured forth their congratulations on those whom death had hurried away from such heartrending scenes. Indeed, humanity at once shudders and sickens at the narration, nor can any one of the least sensibility reflect upon the pitiable condition to which the female part of the inhabitants of Jerusalem must at this time have been reduced, without experiencing the tenderest emotions of sympathy, or refrain from tears while he reads our SAVIOUR'S pathetic address to the women who " bewailed him" as he was led to Calvary, wherein he evidently refers to these very calamities : "Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but for yourselves and fur your children ; for, behold, the days are coming in which they shall say, 'Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the breasts that never gave suck." Luke xxiii. 29...............
Before their final demolition, however, Titus took, a. survey of the city and its fortifications ; and, while contemplating their impregnable strength, could not help ascribing his success to the peculiar interposition of the ALMIGHTY HIMSELF. "Had not God himself (exclaimed he) aided out operations, and driven the Jews from their fortresses, it would have been absolutely impossible to have taken them ; for what could men, and the force of engines, have done against such towers as these ?"
We are making our way to the final thoughts of>>>>
1. What the Lake is, & the primary ingredient of the Lake in English & koine.
2. How the Lake compares with our God the consuming Fire.
