Isn't there something about that if you believe in him but don't do the things he says, then you have no part with him? Also faith without works is dead and even the demons believe and they tremble, from James.
What about that you will be judged as you judge? It seems like there are lots of Christians that judge others from some kind of self righteous attitude. Won't they be judged as they judge? There are lots of Christians saying other Christians aren't really Christian and they're going to hell. I can't stand it personally. does that mean those doing that kind of judging are going to hell?

My own point of view is that we will be forgiven everything as long as Christ judges that we have fulfilled the law of Christ. Now, if we judge others harshly, to the point that we do not fulfill the law of Christ, then we did not do what he said, and are in trouble.

No one will go to hell because they haven’t heard of Jesus Christ. The who have not heard of jesus christ will go to hell for murder, rape, adultery, lust, theft, lying, etc. Sin is not failing to hear the gospel. Rather, "sin is the transgression of the Law" (1 John 3:4). If we really care about the lost, we will become missionaries and take the good news of God’s forgiveness in Christ to them.

Revelation 3:15-17 (New International Version)
15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

I take this to mean that lukewarm is when you say Jesus is your saviour, but your actions suggest otherwise. If you follow Jesus, you must also follow his actions. Your future sins are not absolved when you first give your life to God. Forgiveness does not mean you can then sin against God again.
If you think that believing in the name of Jesus will save you, just remember that Satan also believes in the existence of Jesus.

Thank you! I am still waiting to see one description of judgment in which people are judged on the basis of believing in the name of Christ.

I am not sure that that verse exists, to me it always seems that judgement for non-Christians went along the lines of Romans 2, and Christians on the basis of obedience. Believing in a name, and not changing your life does not do anything to save you. Living to change your character to be what God wills for us to be, is the basis for reward and judgement.

Lovespeace - which verse are you talking about? It helps others who are reading if you use the 'quote' function, as I am confused (not that it doesn't happen all the time!)

If I'm correct, she is saying that there is no description of judgment in which people are judged on the basis of whether or not they believe in the name of Christ.

Yes, thats it, it seems that God judges Christians on the basis of what we do and how we act. What this judgement entails I do not know, it is not spelled out in the Bible. Jesus even says several times that there are those who say Lord Lord and will not be recognized by him.

I do not know what all this means, but certainly it should be enough for Christians to realize that we cannot live however we want. You know, work out your salvation in fear and trembling.

I agree with this. The fear and trembling bit doesn't necessarily mean being afraid of being "zapped" - more like respect for God and his supreme justice. I think that even by thinking we are able to use our earthly intellect to uncover God's designs in the Bible, we are fooling ourselves and risk being like the Pharisees in Jesus day, who were well-versed in Scripture, but had no clue as to what it meant to obey the law of Christ (which for me represents what God has always wanted for us).
