  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anyone else here like Sonic Youth? I've got Daydream Nation and Sonic Nurse, but I don't really know where to go next. Help.

I should probably be asking the same question. I think they're alright, but I don't have anything by them other than Goo. "My Friend Goo" is one of the coolest tracks of all time.

Ha. I wouldn't be upset if he got together with Kelly Clarkson. They deserve each other.
Imagine what their children would look like.

They would be like superchildren or something.

And judging by the track titles on Illinois, they would have the longest names ever.

I actually had a dream about Sufjan last night. I won't go into any more detail.

I would make a comment, but it would get edited.

There's nothing lamer than holding your tongue. Shame on you both. :p

Looks good to me. Very good, in fact.

Thanks. :)

I'm interested in hearing Chase's music. Does he have any songs available online?

Here. Listen to something off Bitter first, if you get a chance. It's his most recent album, and one of my favorites. His new demos are awesome...his song structure and lyrics are starting to get weird which makes me :).

"Good For You" went to #1 on Soundclick last year in one of the genres (I can't remember what it was listed under, maybe folk). But the technicality of the guitar solo in "On My Own" is ridiculous.

I just downloaded the new Animal Collective, Sigur Ros, and Death Cab albums (although, I'm not really holding my breath on Deathcab, I've never been much of a fan).

I haven't listened to any of them yet. But I just thought I'd share that.

And I will also mention that I cannot wait until October. I am dying to hear the new Broken Social Scene stuff.

And I am also looking forward to the new BSS; if "7/4 (Shorelines)" is any indication, we might have a contender for best album of the year.

Do you have a link to stream it? :)

Wow. The new Animal Collective is really good. It seems they are getting more and more accessible with each album, and I think Feels is quite possibly their strongest release to date. I think it's at least as good as Sung Tongs, and I really liked Sung Tongs.

For those of you that like that kind of thing and haven't heard these songs yet, Soulseek is your friend. I think even those of you who were disappointed with Sung Tongs may enjoy Feels.

Thankee. :)

After listening to it a couple of times, I really like "7/4 (Shorelines)", which isn't surprising since I really enjoyed 'You Forgot It In the People'. Does anyone else think that "Anthems For a Seventeen Year Old Girl" was incredible?
