I figured you'd try something like cutting my break lines. For that reason, I'll traverse in a different car each time. It's a shame MiS, we could have played grab ass in person.

I may go to that New Pornographers show. I missed them a few months ago, and refused to pay $60 to see them New Years Eve. I don't want to miss them again.

B&S/The New Pornos (yes!) -- Chicago 3/10
Sigur Ros -- Louisville 2/17
Stars -- Chicago 2/17 (decisions, decisions)
Metric -- Chicago 4/13
Built to Spill (yes!) -- Chicago 4/14

Do it! I've already got my tickets for that show.

Also going to see Andrew Bird in Louisville soon... and Of Montreal in Newport. I'm trying to decide whether or not to see B&S/New Pornos.

(decisions, decisions)?!?! What crap is that? There are no decisions when it comes to a Stars show! If it's not sold out, YOU GO.

I've never really listened to Stars, but I have a friend who really digs them, so he may be a ride. On the other hand, I missed Sigur Ros the last time around and I love them. Plus, I've heard very good things about their live shows.

better Stars than Sigur Ros... however, the only real artist on that list is The New Pornographers

Humbug. No love for Built to Spill? Here's to hoping they play some material from their upcoming album.

I feel the same way. I'm still upset about missing that show.

Yeah, that's a bit of a drive from campus, but I'm aiming for it. I'm going to have to see when Andrew Bird is coming around town. I'd like to see him as much as anyone.

Yeah, I'm anticipating the Andrew Bird show. Sadly, I just recently discovered the Words for Music series the Louisville Library has been putting on, but hopefully I'll be able to score some more free shows in the future. I have to work till 6 that day (when it starts), but I'm going to try and skip out around 5:30.

As much as I'd like to catch the Belle and Sebastian show, and Sigur Ros for that matter, I'm almost positive that I can't afford it.

Okay, The Theory has been talking about The Residents as long as I can remember, so I finally caved in and bought "The Commercial Album", "Animal Lover", and "Eskimo" (I'm still waiting for The Commercial Album to arrive). Animal Lover is amazing at times, and Eskimo has to have one of the oddest vibes of any disc I've ever listened to. "The Festival of Death" is absolutely ridiculous. I'm still in awe that this album was released in 1979, and I'm guessing that they were influential on bands like Animal Collective.

So I'm curious...are there any other fans?

Saw B&S two weeks ago in Glasgow, nothing like a hometown gig to get people going. They did an amazing cover of AC/DCs 'You Shook Me All Night Long'. Inspired.

That's the one I was thinking of checking out. I listened to some samples and liked it...thanks.

No troubles, scrubbles. Colin is one of the best lyricists out there, which I think is most apparent on "Legionnaire's Lament", "Here I Dreamt I Was an Architect", and "Leslie Anne Levine".

Anyone like Man Man? They have a new one coming out soon and it's pretty awesome, called Six Demon Bag.

They're like Animal Collective and Denver Gentleman, minus the unlistenable parts of Animal Collective and the dull parts of Denver Gentlemen.

The Denver Gentlemen... aka, the band who was pre-16 Horsepower? Or a different DG?

Because I've been trying to find the pre-16HP stuff for ages and always come up empty....
Yeah. I have the album (if you wanted to get it). It's consistently good, but like I said, dull at parts.
