Like I said let each act according to their present relationship with Christ, if you are capable to call the saints Blessed then it would be fantastic.

However if ones love and relationship with the lord has not deveoped to this point yet, then we should not say they have a problem, we are all at different places along the road of our relationship with Christ.
I dont understand your implication that not desiring
to glorify creation, rather than the creator, speaks
of an UNdeveloped Christian.
WOW. The bible says just the opposite:

Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Scary progression there.

when i think of RC the first elevated things which come to mind is the pope and Mary... but im honestly not sure where Jesus fits into the mix with the RC because it sometimes appears that these are given more place or focus then Him. i never hear of Him, the association or connection is hard (for an outsider) to make when precedence or weight appears to be everywhere else but Him.
it is natural to put emphasis on what makes us differant then what we have in common
have you ever been to a Catholic Church? ever attend mass? you really should just to see what it is like and to see how centered around Christ it really is.
I used to feel the same way about protestants, I could have been to protestant services and the sermon was all about St. Paul and so were the bible readings. Now this only happened once but I was rather young at the time and thought all of them were like this.

Of course, you are perfectly correct it would be brilliant if when refering to the saints you could also call them blessed along with the blessed Virgin Mary.

Like I said let each act according to their present relationship with Christ, if you are capable to call the saints Blessed then it would be fantastic.

Blessed St Joseph
Blessed St Anthony
Blessed St Christopher
Blessed St Cuthbert
Blessed St Peter
Blessed St Paul
Blessed St Mathew
Can a Catholic admit that all genuine believers are blessed? Or is only those who are dead blessed? Remember the 'Beatitudes' before you answer.

yes I am blessed in many way, God has been so good to me.
The Catholic Church does not say "only Mary has been blessed" but that "No one has been blessed as Mary has been blessed" She is the Mothe of Jesus Christ, my Lord and my God, what can compare to that?

So one can rank blessed people? Is there a "top ten" list anywhere?

WOW. The bible says just the opposite:

Yes that would be a mistake. However this is not what I am advocating at all.

Our first duty is always to glorify God but it is by serving others that we do so.

So it is not at all "glorify creation, rather than the creator" it is to love creation in accordance with the creator.

You see the difference?

of course we are all blessed, but not blessed in the same way as a glorified saint. However I have no problem calling a fellow Christian blessed, to be Christian we are blessed.

Well I dont think that it is apporpriate to "rank" the saints, that is Christs perogitive, however we can safely say that our lady is blessed amongst all women and the fact she was chosen to gave birth to God himself, well that is enough for me to believe she is more blessed that the rest of creation.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heaven, as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world to be holy and without blemish. (Ephesians 1:3-4)

God bless,

Tad

Yes, she was truly blessed....Everyone in Jesus lineage and all the prophets and apostles were special 'vessels' .

Thank you for pointing that out to me.
Yes, I do see what you're saying.

UNFortunately, many do indeed 'glorify" Mary for
instance RATHER than God as their redeemer,
saviour, protector etc.

I've seen many many websites that are dedicated
to, and exclusively created for 'mary'.
Even this thread could be an example of
balance gone awry?

Balance is key in spiritual health imo.

This is what's happened and it's very sad to see.
I know that God is a jealous God.
He doesnt 'share' His glory with any.

So maybe we need to be careful not to
get desensitized and just stay FAR from
glorifying created.

Just something to consider.

Thanks INRI,
sunlover

Well we are not to be their judge, let God Judge them we can only try to correct them and pray for them.

but we should not stop loving our lady because others take it too far
