Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this,
To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,
and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
So who here does not love Mary? You have anyone in mind?
I love all you guys!!!!![]()
Not love Jesus' mom?funny you should use that Quote, it is one that is often used by the organisation I work for.
If we do not love Jesus' Mother how can we even begin to imagine we could love others?
Not all love is 'healthy' love. Do you agree that one can love someone to a point of obsession (ie. more focused on loving a person than God himself)? That is not the kind of love we are told to have toward our fellow man. That kind of love is reserved for God only. Man is second....Do you agree?I do not know the hearts of people only god Knows that.
But very few who have posted on this thread have thus far stated a love of the blessed virgin and even one person I forget who said that s/he had respect for her but he could never love her
I know many on here have a difference in doctrine on The Blessed Virgin Mary - lets forget for the minute there is any marian doctrines. i.e co-redemptrix, co-mediatrix, Perpetual Virginity, Mother Of God forget them all and any offical line towards "our lady"
Its not in scripture, infact our lord asks "who is my mother and who is my borthers) and I suppose it may not be a prerequisit for salvation...
Well If we love Christ, we will want to love all that he loved and who can say he never loved his own mother?
To love our lady because of our love of Christ shows that our love is begining to manifest itself towards others, for if we can not love our blessed mother and honour her how can we love Christ's enemies?
Not love Jesus' mom?
Who don't?
Christians all do, if you have God, you've got love.

I'm glad you made this thread INRI, because it really
helps to see it all in perspective according to how it
REALLY went down as compared to how ministers/priests
etc will sort of color it.
We could makes all sorts of stuff up about Mary,
like say she was perfect and never got offended
each of those times Jesus basically said, back off a
bit mom.
OR we could assume she was a grouch and offended
because as a mom, she was maybe feeling rejected.
Lot's of things we could just throw right out there,
but that would be adding to what we know.
Thanks INRI.
Yeah, I don't think we're called to like bow down
to or revere anyone like mary or the apostles etc,
in such a way as would be like how we honor God.
But we all will call mary blessed among women!!

2And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:Would I be asking too much to request that those who are able to at this moment in love for St Mary giving her the due title of "blessed" when we refer to her.
for example
"Blessed St Mary"
"blessed Virgin"
"blessed Virgin Mary"
"Blessed mother of Jesus"
"blessed......."
Because after all it is her biblical title
"from now on all Generations shall call me blessed"

2And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
6"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
10 "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 "Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
"That verse gets quoted a lot in the ministry I work with as well."
All saints can be called blessed. If you reserve Mary as the only blessed person, then you have a problem.well said, just shows us what kind of woman she was.
would anyone be willing to start calling our lady "blessed...." when refering to her as an outwards and also biblical sign of love for her?
It was at this point the Father revealed to peter who Jesus was, it wasnt a chastisment it was a blessing.
"blessed are you simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood have not revealed this to you but my father in heaven"
You could say it was their devotion to elijiah and moses that was cause of this blessing
