The e-book version of "Nehemiah the Sabbath Reformer" will be available free to download from Amazon from April 8-12 (starting 12am PST, ending 11:59pm PST).

In today's society when people are being squeezed to work all sort of hours, they need the Sabbath more than every before. But the move to bring in Sunday laws is misguided as it has no Biblical basis. The moral law is like a wall in which holes have been made, the biggest being the Sabbath. But to fill the hole with a man made day is like filling a hole with untempered mortar as Ezekiel said. It will not stand the test of time but will collapse. The wall can only be rebuilt with the right material.

I don't like the way this discussion went. What I would like to see is a one on one discussion/debate on this issue, preferably between tall73 and mrasell (or someone else who is just as or more adept in understanding the subject). It would also be nice to see this in bite sizes. Meaning, both sides should agree to discuss this point by point. And there should be an appointed moderator to make sure no digressions take place within the discussion/debate.

Having said that, mrasell, I am curious about your thoughts on this verse: "But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, "Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!" (Acts 7:55-56 NKJV)

This obviously proves Jesus was with the Father. So, wouldn't it make sense to say that He was in the Most Holy place at the time of this event, since the Most Holy Place is where the Father is?

Dr. John Walton. The formost expert in the Evangelical world in the O.T. theology and on the book of Genesis explains that the acient world thought differently then us. the book of Genesis was writting for us BUT to them in their Culture & Language, cousequently we don't always pick up on the meaning of things as they would have, the concept of rest in relationship to the temple is one of those idea's. Rest always is associated with the temple and is the sign of the rulership of God. The rest in Genesis 2 is explained here.

heavenly sanctuary, not real, and not needed.... the concept is a product of cornfield theology.... Crib and BFA have summed it up quite well...
I have never heard of that. Interesting

Cesty I agree with you. However, I would like to be on the discussion as well. We actually never get anywhere here because we have so many who were once SDA or never accept SDA and both are always trying to put the truth down. They including SDA have issues, the SDA most want change and have become bias. They have made EGW something she is not. The Sabbath by both SDA and others are not truly understood. SDA is caught in being the only remnant which the Bible does not teach. Most SDA are caught in a time capsule and refuse to unlearn many errors that the pioneers thought was right. Those who are not SDA come on the forum to prevent what could be achieved by listening to learn something of value instead of hating a people who believe in the Bible as their church believe in the Bible. No one realizes that one faith is right and looks to earnestly found the true faith. It is all by a denomination or church who thinks that their church or belief is the right without check it out base on its merits. It is not about the Bible at all but about hatred for the way one believes that is different. Insults about the law, the Sabbath, the Heavenly Sanctuary and all without realizing that this all is based on the Most High whom they disregard due to their hatred. They do not consider that love, consideration, humbleness, kindness comes from the ALMIGHTY ONES. It would be nice and most happy if we could discuss about the Sanctuary in Heaven, Investigated Judgment, the Sabbath as well as other important issues but we don't. Even SDA become against SDA without checking out the resource, praying for guidance through the Holy Spirit like the Bereans to see what is provided is true. Instead the Bible is disrespected, stamped on, disregarded because choose to provide something of importance that has been overlooked. When we can rationally, with consideration, prayerfully, humbly, looking for truth, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead then and only then can we openly discuss the Bible with dignity and sense.

May my words reach those who are seeking YAHWEH with all their heart!

Happy Sabbath,
stinsonmarri

That assumes that the Father is in the Most Holy Place. Rev. 4-5 place both in the Holy Place at the time of Jesus' ascension.

From my book:

Paul in the Epistle to the Hebrews suggests a number of differences between the earthly and heavenly sanctuary, but in each case he gives a Scripture to support it (Psalm 110:4 for the new priesthood, Psalm 40:6-8 for the new sacrifice, Jeremiah 31:31-34 for the new covenant, Exodus 25:40 for the superior heavenly sanctuary)...

In the wilderness tabernacle direct access to God’s Presence was provided only to the high priest, and only on the Day of Atonement in the Most Holy Place. However, according to Paul, access to God in the heavenly temple is not limited; Jesus has direct access to God continually. The concept of movement is found in the vision of Daniel 7:9-10 where the throne of God is pictured with wheels and fire proceeds from it, then the Ancient of Days takes His seat. Revelation chapters four to five give us the Biblical evidence to conclude that in heaven, God’s presence is not confined to the Most Holy Place. He is free to move from one apartment to another without restriction. This is a departure from the wilderness type but it is based on Scripture and shows how the heavenly sanctuary is greater than its shadow which is what we would expect. Revelation shows us how Jesus moves from the Holy Place to the Most Holy Place in the two phases of His ministry there, all the time being in the presence of God.
