No, the principles according to the scriptures as recorded by Paul. Word for word:
Hebrews 6:1-2 KJV
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again
the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
- repentance from dead works,
- faith toward God,
- the doctrine of baptisms,
- laying on of hands
- resurrection of the dead
- eternal judgment
Paul identifies these doctrines and says some hard things about those who do not know them:
Hebrews 5:11-14 KJV
11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered,
seeing ye are dull of hearing.
12 For when for
the time ye ought to be teachers, y
e have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and
are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for
he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Hebrews 6:1 KJV
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation...
I would encourage all to come up with these doctrines... not theology, which is by men and leads one astray.
Most Christians will list things like "sovereignty" and "control." Yet these are not found in the list. Not only are they not on the list, but these words are not even found in the KJV of the scriptures... not once. Yet many will make these the most important doctrines and prioritize them above all else.
The word "control" is found in the ISV, but to the dismay of many, it does not refer to God:
1 John 5:19 ISV
19 We know that we are from God and that the whole world lies under the
control of the evil one.
