Yes, I am a lousy Christian. But a lousy Christian goes to Heaven, too. I get momentary twinges of fear that I won’t get rewards like really good Christians, but they don’t last long.

Like a fool, I don’t think about the end game and go in for instant gratification.

Lousy Christian's don't go to heaven, where in the world do you get that idea?

It is difficult for one to see change if the observer has no knowledge of the other's past. But if I may pose a question.. How does a professed atheist, believe that the soul exists?

Because Atheism is a stance, not a faith.

Yes they do. I get that from Jesus. He said that He will not lose any that God has given Him. Annas and Sapphira were lousy Christians and went to Heaven.

You may as well give up if your religion has no profound effect on your inner soul.

Why? Is religion only for betterment? Or is it a philosophical belief. Plus, one can have a profound change in one’s soul with no corresponding change in behavior.

I don't propose to know about your personal viewpoints, other than that you state next to your name "atheist". For the sake of good conversation, I figured I would ask in that I might help. I personally have beliefs and stances and can attest to God being real in my life. I have no doubt as to where I will go when I die, and have had reassurances concerning afterwards what it will be like, though I don't know the true scope of it altogether by any means, as some of it will always be a mystery until that appointed time.

He doesn’t need me to get through to anyone. I’m awful at witnessing. I don’t do it, because I am more likely to turn people off God than on Him.

If you only believe because of the promise of heaven then your holding onto a thread.

Well it is and then there is again free will.

Walking with Jesus is still free will every day. But in Christ, CHOOSING with that free-will to ALLOW God to transform you.

Did you follow what Jesus said is the most important commandment, love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, soul and mind?

Do you know it takes a lifetime to do that, because loving God is also loving others and not self.

So did you follow Christ or did you sit back for 6 months and wait for the magic to happen? Did you love your neighbor as yourself? Did you desire and store for yourself treasures in heaven or on earth?

Why is god for us humans synonymous with believing?

Because God created you, gets to decide and said that He redeems those who believe in Him and that His Son died for the sins of all mankind.

God gets to decide.

Maybe if your burning in hell and he is with Christ, you'll think he was a smart Christian.

You can screw yourself up badly by believing in invisible concepts. Our mind's are adapted to sensory information.
