Surely you remember the difference in definition between a socialist and a democratic socialist from Bernie Sanders' campaign.

Yes, but she won mostly because of a fringe segment turning out when no one else did. Her sudden abandonment by said fringe is going to really hurt her going forward.

I keep referring to Bernie because she does. She worked on his campaign as a volunteer and identifies herself with his same politics. Surely you knew that?

In my city, there is a local farmers market where only locally grown produce can be sold. It works well. The less the government is involved the better. This is different though than selling produce across international borders. Our government needs to be involved, otherwise our producers will be taken to the cleaners. I think this is true in other industries.
