What a lovely picture, MIHI!

I'm not good with birds, either. I think it might be a female lesser goldfinch?

What a great idea--go to Google. Of course!

I went there, too. I found a site, www.whatbird.com that has the bird calls as well. I was looking at range. You're in Canada--it might not be the lesser goldfinch, because that bird's range is south of you. It could be an American goldfinch? They're so close, it's hard to tell!

Hi, that's a great site. Not being an avid birdwatcher myself I have learned a great deal about little yellow birds .. It probably was an American goldfinch that I saw near here. I can see the difference now.

lol..or we could move on to butterflies. I thought it was a moth at first but a show I just saw said butterflies sit with their wings up and moths with their wings out. But I'm not googling butterflies today..

I have a few of his sisters and brothers here as well. Amazing climbers!

I had some prize winning Zinnias last summer. Our little squirel friends tried digging them up every morning. I ened up surrendering the Zinnias to them since they apprecited them so. Each morning I came to the garden, I just fixed the soil and surprisingly most of them survived. The squirels seemed to not like the Geraniums at all.

My mother was a super talented gardener. She raised just about every flower know to her gardening zone plus more. She often brought home plants from trips to the tropics. We had a banana tree and orange tree and a rubber plant at home at one point. Mother also raised hybred Tea Roses of several colors however Her favorite flowering trophy was a giant trellace covered with Clematis.
