  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you girls know about eyelash tinting?
I used to get both my eyelashes and eyebrows dyed...I'm the real deal when it comes to blond....but moved from Minneapolis (lots of service availability there), and in the community I'm in, noone is doing eye-lash tinting. I found a kit for doing eye-brows, and do that myself now. (There are people who do it here, but I hate when they are not careful and blob it onto my skin too heavily...It leaves me with about 2 days worth of looking like I'm from a horror movie when that happens. My skin just sucks the stuff right up and doesn't let go. )

I am a reformed frump queen...at least most days.

I don't always put on make-up and shower...but I do wear great clothes that make me feel fabulous and stylish. I try to make sure that the clothes I pick are flattering in their cut and color for my body type--while still functional for a mom of 5- 10 and under.

If I need to *BE* somewhere, I pick out mine and the kids clothes before bed the night before. Otherwise, getting dressed is at least an hour long process. Right now I'm freshly dressed, but my 4 year old is wandering around in his undies, and my 3 year old JUST has a shirt on. My 1 year old is fully dressed though. :)

My goal - be dressed by the time Hubby get's home, even if that means 5 minutes before hand! lol

~Anita (Newbie who has no idea how to make a character though I've tried and if I'll ever have time to post enough for a signature...:) )

I pick out the clothes the night before too.

Be aware this has drawbacks too. My ds went to school one day without underwear on because "you forgot to put them out for me mummy" ROFL. Then I did point out that if mummy forgets it's up to you to go and get them (he's 6) So now I try and occasionally get him to help me get his clothes ready the night before.

yeah me too. I went and got myself some new clothes today because I just didn't have anything to wear. I hardly ever shower in the morning or wear makeup (I shower/bathe at night) but I do have some nice pants now that will take me from casual to dressy with the right tops. So I will probably live in those (I got a navy and a black pair, both were half price so that's excellent)

And so it happened again. 2 Saturdays ago, DH wakes me up and asks me to help him put up real-estate signs. He was in a rush because it was going to get windier as the day went on and the signs are tall. So I slammed a cup of coffee, threw on old jeans, an old t-shirt, an insulated shirt (windy and cool), and big red rubber gardening shoes (it was muddy), along with yellow leather work gloves and ate a granola bar going out the door. I managed to get the hair in a pony tail and brush my teeth too. We put up signs, then decided to stop at Home depot on the way home to pick up some plumbing parts hubby needed to fix our sprinkler system for the garden. I'm windblown and covered in dust and mud.

You would think I would be safe there, but Nuuuhhhhuuuuhhhhooooo. We run into the wife of the head of our city's development association. She has her hair, make-up and nails perfectly done. Wearing her heels and perfectly pressed clothes...picking out stuff for home remodelling. She didn't even know who I was until she spied my hubby. (SHOOT! If I'd gone wandering instead of helping me, she wouldn't have even known it was me.)

So, we visitted, and as usual, I just looked like a vagabond next to the queen. Don't get me wrong, she is perfectly nice, and not at all rude in any way. This kinda thing just keeps happening to me.

DH and I so rarely go out for a nice dinner or movie. But when we do, you would think that God could have us run into just a couple of people he knows so that they don't all think he married someone who is always covered in mud.

(laughing at my life...and you can laugh with me too if you want. I am just such a poorly written sit-com at times, I think.)

My 3 year old is often running around in his undies (we call them jocks). My 1 year old usually stays in his pyjamas until we have to go out somewhere.
I always aim to shower and be dressed by noon! ^_^

LOL this is my house!!!! Though my 3 year old usually has her night shirt still on.

I throw on a pair of jeans, t-shirt/sweatshirt (weather permitting) and a pair of hiking shoes or crocks. I have short hair so I just do a quick run through it with my fingers and I do not wear make up, skin sensitivities.

 faith...just noticed this thread.

frump queen here! LOL!

If I don't have time to get ready, I wash up by the sink...KWIM?
Put deoderant on, t-shirt, jeans, brush teeth (of if I'm really late, i just floss and rinse!), put my hair in a ponytail, and slip on my flops. that's it..no make up or anything!
most people i run into know that i have 3 litle boys and little time to get ready in the am.

don't worry guys...by the pm, i usually have had a chance to shower!! LOL!

YAY! Today I made it to the orthodontist by 7:50 am with the 3 kids, and I had actually showered (well, the night before to be honest), put on my lips an some liner and hair in a head band. Cute sandals I had forgotten about brown capris and a brick red turtleneck tank.

Honestly, I will probably be back to frump queen by tomorrow.

Wearing cocoa colored painter style shorts and a black tank all day. Hair clipped into a crazy bun on the back (and I think lop-sided by now)....been cooking, cleaning, bathing the dog & washing out the kennel, doing laundry, and packing for an unexpected trip for a funeral all day.

Frumping all the way.

Hoping to make it into the shower in an hour...but I think hubby who is mowing just might beat me to it.

I did brush my teeth and wash my face this morning.

today i threw on an oversized T and knickers. hair in a pony again. that seems to be the style of choice for me these days...or is it out of desperation? LOL!
anyway...i was out the door at 8:15am to take Stephen to pre-k summer program, then out shopping for Nick's birthday, then back to pick Stephen up, then home to get lunch, then out the door again for swim lessons. whew! at least the late afternoon was a little more relaxing! ^_^
