1. Because God doesn't lie and a non-accurate account of the source of all life and matter would be a stumbling block to "The Truth". Not to smart to mess with "Where you came from".

Since it's not established that A => B, your logic is unsound: it is not established that the reason the Bible has not 'passed away' is because it's 'Gods word' - it's entirely possible, for instance, that if it's just an old piece of test, it's persisted by sheer chance. After all, there must be a most popular religion, and it would have a scared text - who's to say that Christianity didn't just get lucky?
