This an encouraging start. There may be hope yet.

I still want to see Christ's name back in the title, though I am happy that some of the slogans proclaim the site as a Christian based forum. It's a huge step in the right direction.

Agreed :) I think it is a wonderful start, but more steps need to be made to get it back in shape :)

There is always hope. As you already know if we never give up on good it will never give up on us.

This is a fantastic start ! This is already much more than I even thought possible. It refreshed my belief in miracles. God Bless...

I would like to see the globe being held in Gods hands. That concept and the crosses I am seeing on some of these banners is very, very inspiring indeed. Beautiful work.

This is really shaping up now. Couple these banners with these five wonderful principals and hope really rushes into this place on the wings of the angels. It even seems brighter today for some reason. Praise God !

Fabulous Work everyone!

I personally think that there were mistakes made in the way things were done, which was a major cause of frustration and outrage and concern for souls and loss. Frankly I dont like the original changes, BUT, i note the new changes today which have complimented them, and I feel personally that I and others have been heard by these changes.

Are things perfect? No, and they wont be until the return of Christ. Are there still things i disagree with? Yes.

For instance, and i mean nothing personaly against any unitarian, i love each one, but just as the doctrine was considered damnable bare weeks ago, I believe it still is, and I frankly disagree with endorsing their doctrine in any way shape or form.

On the other hand... well i posted this in another thread, i will paste it here

"Erwin THANK YOU brother

I support your efforts and thank you for the additions. Anything I can do to help build in Christ here I offer it freely.
Thank you for understanding our passions and moving on them. I changed my title to reflect my support.

God bless you"

I realize Erwin is in a tough position with so many members, and that he cannot please us all. Despite the mistakes made i know we all make mistakes and this is my opinion anyway, others disagree with me. I am willin to work to help this site become solid, and I am ready to stand for doctrrine come what may.

There is a new challenge here at the board for conservative Christians. There are new doctrinal battles to fight and souls to fight for. It is time now i believe for us to accept the changes, and be greatful for the new ones, and to give Erwin credit for the new ones. Now it is time to turn our faces to the new battle. Mine will involve many things including fighting the new unitarian influance, but this time it will be with a bible in a forum one on one or one on many or many on many. I just want to rise for the fight for souls.

Let us all lick our wounds and swollow our pride and stand together in Christ Unified...

Who knows, maybe the original vision may come to pass through the new. This will be my goal.

Let us treat one another with love and respect.

As one who fought hard for new changes on the new changes, i rest my sword from that fight now and look to the new, maybe afrter a little good natured fellowship

God bless all here in Christ name at this 'Christian Forum' at ForU.ms

Rome was not built in a day. These few changes already have laid the ground work for an open yet very Christ centered place. That is the key isn't it? I agree some matters need discussion but it's time to rejoice in the moment .

You are such a good person and it has been my pleasure to meet you through all this debate. I have met more wonderful Christians in the midst of this debate than I have in one year on C.F. Maybe this all happened for a reason. Our Lord does indeed work in mysterious ways. Thank You for all you have done and all you do.

We now have five Christian principals we did not have yesterday. We now have banners with crosses appearing on the top of these pages.

Christ is here brother you can surely believe that. God Bless...

I'll bite and ask for some clarification....

I think like Snoochface said, people are going to focus in on the first part of what was said in regards to the principles. People are going to see it say that they're "non-negotiable" but then in the same paragraph it also says "they are not meant to be enforced." While Erwin continues and says that each forum (or I guess forum group) may expand on those principles...and of course that those principles can't be contradicted....I wish there was an easier way to explain all that without giving the impression that the principles aren't meant to be enforced.

I had to read it a couple times before I got the whole point....that the principles are a bit like the guiding factors for the forum areas to create their rules.

If there was a way to avoid the whole "enforcement" part...I think that might clear things up.

Just my personal opinion though.

As always, Jen, you make great points.

I've rephrased that whole paragraph in the first post like this:

The Five Christian Principles will provide overall guidance to staff and members in developing forum rules and enforcing those rules. Forum rules are developed collaboratively by staff and members and will basically be more detailed interpretations and expansion of the above principles. Forum rules may expand from the above principles and add things not covered by the above principles but the above principles cannot be contradicted. Forum rules should be developed with the above principles in mind with the focus on the vision of this site detailed here: About Us

Basically, those 5 principles, as they form the basis of the rules, will be enforceable, as some of them are very specific e.g. You shall not steal - however, some are generic and vague and require rules to specify what they mean.

As is this. ;) The first new logo I saw was the one where the letters forums was across a cross (in the center of the letters) and where each letter of forums stood for something (faith, regional, etc.). It was a hard logo for me to read....I think because the cross and the letters forums were large (as well as christian-based, internet family under the logo) but the words (faith, regional, etc.) were much smaller. It's an interesting logo concept....just was hard for me to focus on....unlike the globe one. It's not something I'm going to go bonkers over. Just a personal observation.
The logos are entries in the logo competition. :) They are not the final ones and more entries are still being created and will be rotated.

Thanks Erwin. :) And I agree that some things are pretty self-explanatory and may not need elaboration by any forum's specific rules. But some would need interpretation or more defining. And I did see that in the original paragraph explaining the purpose of the principles. I just kept getting hung up on the not being enforced part. And I figured others might too. I really like the re-written paragraph.

Ahh....I didn't know if the contest was over or if it was still going on. That's cool that we get to see some of them as the logo before the final decision is made. It was just my personal preference. It was a well done logo. :) And I really like the location/size of the home button on it (just used it a few minutes ago).

Thanks again for addressing the concerns I brought up....and for giving members this opportunity to voice their thoughts.

How about

"You shall have no other gods before Me."

For those who are WITH Christ in our hearts, the Ten Commandments are about LOVE. Christians do not look at the Ten Commandments as laws but Grace of Love. We are to LOVE God first (first 4 commandments) and we are to love one another (last 6 commandments).

Well said. It was a good choice to use the commandments as a framework here. I most surely agree. .
