Hey guys I was wondering if someone could shed some info here, I thought I would try this board for awhile, espcially for this question.
Tradition has it that Simon Peter was the first Bishop of the early church, but today I watched a special on A&E which had some hot shot theologine say that actually James was the first bishop, then he quoted Paul from Galatians maybe. I'm confused now...
Could anyone shed some light?

Paul and Barnabas were later added to their number, and James the Just, "the brother of the Lord," took the place of James of Zebedee when he was slain. (As already suggested, let's avoid arguments about his precise relationship in this thread.)
