Explain your view and the duration and how you came to that conclusion.
I should first say, God is not willing any perish. But all come to repentance.
This is what Life is about, God saving His children. But your question is about Judgment Day and what happens at that time. Which concerns the soul sentenced to perish who don't make it.
Exodus 32:33 kjv
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.”
Revelation 21:27
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. kjv
Philippians 4:3
And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life. kjv
The Lord Christ told us plainly, concerning The Lake of Fire, a soul is destroyed. Meaning it does not exist anymore once it contacts that fire after Judgment Day.
Which again in the chronological order of events, has not taken place yet for anyone.
Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. kjv
Psalm 37:20
But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. kjv
There is even a special acrostic in Psalms 37 which brings added emphasis to this Truth concerning the wicked persons.
Paul and Peter come to mind on this.
1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
( Mortal, and Immortality, is a new subject introduced up until that point in the chapter concerning, the state of the soul. The Greek for mortal means, liable, to die. Die when? At The Great White Thone Judgement Day. Immortal means, deathlessness. Again John 3:16 kjv )
Revelation 21:8 - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
2 Peter 3: 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
( Elements in Greek are the evil Rudiments of the works of mankind and the men who do them again after The Lords Day concludes and Judgment Day beings ).
All of Gods teachings, warnings, on this matter follow that premiss. It is a erasure a blotting out of the soul. They dont exist.
Where people get into trouble is not understanding figures of speech.
As the fat hits fire, for example given in Psalms, so is smoke. So the smoke ascends forever and ever. Is a simple Hebraism meaning finished.
Once fat is turned to smoke, that is a forever consequence. There's no reconstituting smoke to its former state. Its gone.
Its that simple. God can protect those He loves. Or, the wicked, on Judgement contacts God, The Consuming Fire.
Hebrews 12:29
For our God is a consuming fire.
Satan is the only one sentenced by name to die in The Lake of Fire so far. And the fallen angels. Jude, John 17:12, . etc.
Hebrews 2:14-18
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; .
Ezekiel 28:14
Thou
art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee
so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 Thou
wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Ezekiel 28:18
“Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.”
Ezekiel 28:16
“By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.”
Read Revelation 20 in its entirety. kjv.
Then one can grasp a better understanding of why there are no tears in Heaven, in The Eternity. Because there wont be anyone that offends to shed a tear for. They probably wont even be remembered. Because they wont exist that follow Satan.
Exodus 32:32 kjv
“Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.”
Revelation 22:19
“And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and
from the things which are written in this book.”
Revelation 20:12 kjv
“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is
the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
Revelation 13:8
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. kjv
Revelation 3:5
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. kjv
Revelation 20:15
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Matthew 25:41 -
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: kjv
( Ever lasting, emphasizing
This consequence is final. Consequently, Judged worthy of it. )
I could go into a bit more depth into the figures of speech used concerning this throughout The Bible. But to keep it simple and on point without parable gets it explained. If you keep this in mind, then those other passages become easy to understand.
Chronologically
this happens after The Lords Day concludes after The Judgment Day. On a different subject, for now people return to God in Paradise. As Christ illustrated with Parable and figures, to either side of the gulf. The state of their souls being what divides them.
