I agree with him on 1 John 3, the whole chapter, in fact the whole book. As far as "initial sacrifice" you'll have to show me that and I'll ask him about it. I ALWAYS go to the horse's mouth. I never believe gossip without proof.

I do speak in a new tongue, Christ and Him crucified. The tongues of Angels. This is the message God's Angels have been bringing to mankind from the beginning.

Let me explain, I truly am not trying to confuse you. If I walk into a room with ten people in it. I preach the Gospel to them. Two of the people understand my speech, they come to repentance of the knowledge of truth. Eight of those people don't understand a word I am saying. To them, I am speaking a foreign language. Me and the other two are edified by the Word of God. Christ is glorified.

I'm just asking you to be open with me. I'm not trying to put you on the spot. I'm just troubled.

You say the flesh is weak. Jason says the burden is heavy.

I say just the opposite, and it has been my experience ever since I was filled with the Spirit AFTER 30 years of going to church and having no strength that whole time. Then I could relate to both of you, and stuart, but not for the last 40 years of walking in the Spirit.

And don't get me wrong. Many Pentecostals know all about the Spirit, but like many in any denomination, don't have Him yet. I was that way for about the last 6 years before receiving. And when I was, overnight my desires about faced and I had strength not to willfully sin any longer. No longer was my flesh weak. And no longer was the burden heavy.

All it took was true repentance from all sin, and wham, I was having a conversation with God, literally! He explained my condition through a vision, and He spoke to me. Eight sentences were seared into me. And from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet I was enveloped with love and joy unspeakable.

I want that for you.

Yes, it is foolishness to them...to them I am speaking a foreign language. They do not understand a word I say.

I was raised pentecostal. Many in that denomination believe they have reached a place and state others cannot attain to. They must become like them.
They believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, including speaking in tongues. The emphasis is on speaking in tongues.
As I say, they believe you must be where they are at. For many it comes accross as arrogance.
I agree with a well known Baptist minister in the UK. 85 percent of evangelicals/ Pentecostals do not understand the justification/ sanctification process. That is my experience based on these churches. The emphasis is in speaking in tongues, and living to a very high standard of moral living
When I attended these churches I myself tried to attain heaven as Saul the pharisee tried to attain it. I tried to be righteous by observing the law.
The thing is, what you see on a Sunday cannot be replicated 24/7. The letter of holiness is constantly preached, but NOT the message of grace Paul preached as to how to over come sin. For many it is disastrous. They end up seeking help from Christian counsellors due to the state their lives end up in.

I agree, The Holy Spirit never glorifies Himself. He glorifies Christ. He testifies that Christ has come. He convicts the world of sin. This is exactly what the Holy Spirit was doing when Christ was accused of miracles by the devil. I have watched many charismatic programs...Christ isn't found.
