No stuart, I don't need a law telling me not to kill, but I do need one to tell me to love, and so do you. And the Spirit in me loves through me. I'm merely His vessel. It would be good if you could stop accusing me of things, because that is your flesh speaking. Also Jason.

His law is easy and His burden is light.

But it is still law - the law of love.

It's still a yoke and or it is still a burden.
A yoke is a piece of wood that is fitted on the neck of oxen for the purpose of binding to them the traces by which they might draw the plough, etc.
We are told to pick up our cross, and deny ourselves, and to come follow Jesus.
Anyone who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.

Are you saying the law of the Spirit of life in Christ is a yoke and a burden? If I'm the only one with my beliefs, I'll go it alone.

So what does pick up your cross, deny yourself, and come follow me mean to you?
What does looking back after having put your hand to the plow and not being fit the for the Kingdom of God mean to you?
What does work out your salvation with fear and trembling mean to you?

Dying to the flesh and walk after the Spirit.

What does this verse mean to you?

"Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God." (Acts of the Apostles 14:22).

Sorry you are wrong, friend.

Yes, Jesus is the END of the law of sin and death, but Jesus is the BEGINNING of the law of the Spirit of life in Christ.
The Law of the Spirit is to love God, Love the brethren. 1 John emphasizes this over and over again. This is what Jesus taught from the beginning.

Stand strong in the face of adversity.

It says they are to continue in the faith.
Why tell them to continue in something that is just simple and easy?
Why tell us that we MUST through much tribulation enter the Kingdom of God?

The Bible says we are:
To continue in the faith.
To continue in His grace.
To continue in His love.

Why the admonishments if it was all easy and effortless?

I agree, but Paul knew that what he said COULD be interpreted that way so he clarified, twice!

Romans 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Paul is telling us that God gave us the Law to expose us to our own sin. But now that we are made aware of our wretchedness and God's grace. We don't take the liberty we have in Christ and use it for malicious intent. We now live in Christ and if Christ is in us we love the brotherhood.

This doesn't mean we won't fail, we do. For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. He rises back up, knowing Christ is his righteousness. Like I have said throughout this thread...God forbid that we sin, if we do we have an advocate in Christ.

Jesus said "Whosoever will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me". We have to deny ourselves, we cannot depend on ourselves and what we do. He is our everything. We find righteousness in Him alone.

Because the Holy Spirit is VERY powerful. Jesus did not leave us alone. No, He said for them to wait until they received power from the Holy Spirit.

I can do all things through Christ who STRENGTHENS me.

It isn't easy or effortless. The Bible says there is no good thing in our flesh. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Our flesh can never please God.

But you are NOT IN THE FLESH, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. Romans 8:9

Again, this is what Jason is preaching. He has also said Christ's sacrifice was only an initial sacrifice. You had said, he preaches what the Apostles preach, when Paul actually railed against what Jason preaches.

I agree with him on 1 John 3, the whole chapter, in fact the whole book. As far as "initial sacrifice" you'll have to show me that and I'll ask him about it. I ALWAYS go to the horse's mouth. I never believe gossip without proof.

Besides, I know how these posts can be twisted, just like people do with scripture.
