Congress has submitted over 100 Bills to the Senate that McConnell is ignoring. The likely intent is to make them look like the "do nothing Congress" President Trump likes to taunt, and it's working because his base repeats the same without any vetting. I blame Congress, because they should be screaming from the rafters how the Senate is sitting on pressing Bills. They should also circulate a list of all the Bills, note their importance, and make it a major news story on a weekly bases. That way, everyone can track the extent of the senate's negligence.

That's what they do. If they vetted, then they wouldn't have the excuse of not knowing when something is false.

All right. Let's test out the thesis that we were given in the OP.

Identify for us a bunch of the bills that were referred to as "pressing" that the Senate has allegedly been "ignoring." Only then will we be able to judge.
How about election security?

Republicans stonewall Democrats’ election security plans

Fox said:
Republicans last week shut down a series of Democrat-backed bills on election security forms.

“The threats we face in 2020, in my view, are going to make 2016 look like small potatoes,” said Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., on the Senate floor.

It wont do any good. None of Donald's followers want to be labeled as an "enemy of the American people," as "human scum," or as a target to be "hunted down," so they'll dutifully and fearfully follow whatever he tells them to.

Whatever their importance, none have been brought before the Senate for a vote. The "not brought before the Senate for a vote" is the point of my post, regardless of the Bills' importance.

With 175+ ignored bills, it would seem to be a do nothing Senate, or do nothing McConnell more than a do nothing congress.

I see that you just altered the OP, but what I quoted was from it at the time I responded.

I do not agree that "not brought before the Senate for a vote" was the point.

The point also included the claim that the Senate did not vote on bills that had come over from the House AND WERE "PRESSING."

A lot of legislation hardly fits that description, so anyone who thinks that genuinely "pressing" legislation was held up should be able to identify what that legislation was and why it would be considered "pressing."

Bottomline, the Senate is not doing their job.

Well, actually, the Senate is doing what it is supposed to do.

It can vote down unacceptable bills coming over from the House, it can pass them and send them to the President for signature, or it can simply not vote on them. It's all within the Senate's prerogatives as the upper house of Congress.

So, the Senate is never a do-nothing house, because anything they do, they are doing something. If that's the case, then the OP could only have been referring to the House, correct?

Do you think that sentence actually relates to my previous post?

Sure, let's break it down further for you.

Your statement: the Senate can do all of these things: pass, table, and veto. Thus, they cannot be said to be a do-nothing Congress, because anything the Senate does is by definition, something they can do.

Thus, the OP must be referring to the Reps. You know this, even though the OP states Congress instead of Reps. You demonstrated this by asking what legislation has the Reps passed. This was answered adequately by other posters. Thus demonstrating that in actuality, both parts of Congress are working.

So, since you think at least part of the Congress is doing their job, you must also think President Trump was wrong to call Congress a "do-nothing Congress".
