  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've read several pieces like that in the past few days. My argument goes hand in hand with the Green party talk here. If they can't run on what matters to the voters, and that IS progressive politics, then it's time to abandon the Democratic Party and make a new one viable.

On the opposite end the same could be true, let there be a Tea Party. it would actually be nice to see a 4 party election.

There is an ever present and growing sickness in society.

A sickness that is becoming more and more ever present.

And this is all part of what will be the end times.

And for every one that passes judgement on another,

every one that values self- righteousness over humility,

that shows no Godly love, mercy, or compassion....

Who say one thing but does the opposite....

Who refuses to "grow up" for the welfare of all people, not just Christians.

And those who follow their understanding and counsel,

instead of God's and Jesus' understanding and counsel....

and those who value their own lives, while devaluing others lives,

....God is taking notice.

and the time will come when all will come to God, including those who refused to show Godly love to all peoples, Christian and Non Christian, saved and sinner, all beliefs and backgrounds, no matter how rich or poor and desparate.

In prayer I seek God's understanding and it is so apparent that people are blindly letting themselves be Satanically manipulated and influenced to the point that the example of Jesus and the love of God means nothing to them...

And when I mention this, it is completely irrelevant to them....

if it does not aggree with their own limited understanding it is of no value to them...

They may not have to answer to me, but they answer to God,

and while in prayer and meditation it was shown to me that then and only then will they ever say "sorry" ... but it will be too late... too late..

While we were still sinners...God sacrificed his Son for us...

in doing so God has shown to us an example.

Where is that mentality today? Especially in Politics?

...God is watching...and everything that is done, being done and will be done has been mentioned in His Word....including the time God will put an end to all this.

And put an end to the injustices that men commit on their fellow men.
...and with God's help and mercy...I will not be cought up in the madness of this world.

Anyone notice that nobody called themselves tea party? I guess they didnt want the credit for the government shutdown, yeah let them run as tea party and watch the party flame out

I would speculate that's because the Tea Party wants the whole of the Republican Party to reflect their views, they don't want to be separate they want Republicans to be them.

They seem to function almost like a secret society, some are candid about aligning with them, others deny it but most likely agree with their politics.

I'm still not convinced Boehner isn't one.

I dont think so, he looks really unhappy or like he has indigestion when the more radical members of his party are mentioned or shutdown is bounced around

Their methods may irritate him to an extent, but I think he may align with their views. If nothing else, he probably sees them as instruments, that 'they make a wonderful mess of things'.

Am I the only one here who has just lost the desire to engage with most of the stupidity here? And I'm not meaning this one thread, this is probably the most sane one to read and post in, I mean the folder as a whole.

I'm ready to move to something beyond cops. I have finally invoked the ignore function on the Troll of the Century and found it quite pleasant.

BTW, VW appears to be embracing the UAW at the Chattanooga TN plant to the chagrin of the local politicos.

I'm a bit concerned about the GOP stranglehold on the South, but things go in cycles.

It's not just one troll, it's a mindset that I'm tired of. It's like they read the same talking points and all give the same responses.

We'll see how long it takes for VW and the UAW to enter into collective bargaining. OH MY! no wonder unions are hated! There's one of them commie words - Collective!

In the south them good ol' boys will eventually come around and remember that the Dems are the true racist party.

I say just take a break. There's a handful of libertarian conservative dudes who I like in this forum and worth talking to and I take breaks whenever they do.

I've finally matured this year. Rather than continuing to fight it out, when it gets unbearably stupid, I just unsubscribe from the thread and after a day, I find I've lost all interest in the topic.

99% of the threads in the main American Politics thread are just not worth it. I mean, it's all so antagonistic, it's not like we're all having a seat at the table to have a civil and equal discussion.

I'm basically on break from this forum. I've found myself being increasingly more antagonistic with some of the people, and that's not good. One person in particular is driving me up the wall with his crap attitude.

I referred my special someone to Mr. Ignore. Life is so much better here, now.
