• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So what brought you over from being a libertarian?

Well libertarianism at its core is about eliminating coercion, so I reasoned as libertarians do that taxation, being forceful, was illegitimate. What I didn't realize was that before income or corporate taxation occurred, the government was initiating coercion by enforcing property rights, whose existence is dependent on government coercion. This led me to ditch the idea that taxation is illegitimate and explore "real", historical libertarianism (libertarian socialism), which led me to examine socialism as a whole as a philosophy. So I vote Green or something similar when and if I vote, even though my "idealist" views are closer to libertarian socialism

Nice to see the mods caught on after countless years of the exact same person doing it.

I finally decided to use the Ignore List for the first time.

Problem is it really doesn't work because someone NOT on your list will inevitably quote the ignored person's post in full.

But it will get in the way of my responding to the inane flaming troll posts.

Uh oh! :o Will this be banned as well? Is it goading or a humorous response to inane blame-shifting? :)
Just don't report me and all will be fine.

CANTON, OH (The Borowitz Report)—An Ohio man has become infected with misinformation about the Ebola virus through casual contact with cable news, the Centers for Disease Control has confirmed....

...Once Klugian’s condition was apparent, the Ohio man was rushed to a public library and given a seventh-grade biology textbook, at which point he “started to stabilize,” the spokesman said.

I've figured out that there's no need to speak out in gay rights threads anymore. It's a lot more fun to watch conservatives throw their adorable little tantrums.

I find it amusing that they want LGBT people to respect their "right" to refuse them service, even though for so long they were responsible for them effectively being second class citizens. It's funny in a tragically ironic way.

I think GOP operatives would have a better understanding of what the party wants them to say and how to say it. Most of what I see here is not much more than the talking points, regurgitated over and over again.

They could be paid advertisers from conservative news publications.

Let the conspiracy theories run wild.
