  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I found several "Which Presidential candidate should you vote for" quizzes online. They are only based on each candidate's stated policies and incomplete, but all of them rank Sanders and Warren above Biden so I probably will not vote for the former vice president on March 10. But I am not ruling him out yet.

Well, for the first time since I started voting at age 19, I will be voting a straight-ticket in the coming presidential election and that will be for the Democratic Party. I also donated to the Party and will do so again. I've never donated to a political party before now. I never thought I would lean toward just one political party, but I definitely lean more liberal since Trump was elected. The Republican Party has lost my respect and my support. I won't vote a Republican candidate who supports Trump.

It is impossible to vote in the primary election without belonging to one of the two major parties in Ohio, where I lived most of my life, so I had no choice but to vote straight ticket. In Florida, people must pick a political party or say "no party affiliation" when they get their state ID or driver's license.

Yes, Bernie is will to go to toe to toe with the establishment.

His efforts remind of Goldwater (the leader of the conservative movement) in 1964. Sanders might get more states than Goldwater did, or not.

This is what consistent integrity looks like. Bernie's not just spouting empty promises, he's willing to go toe to toe.

I agree. I suspect the majority of Americans (outside of the coasts) feel the same about Sanders.

If Bernie wins the nomination expect trump to bow out of any debates.

I matched Yang a bit more than Biden. Bloomberg wasn't listed.

That's quite possible. There would be little use for the debates. The US would have an up or down vote on socialism. And the Electoral College vote would be clear. This who support socialism or democratic socialism are almost all located in New England (and perhaps NY and NJ)and the West Coast.

I can understand the use of the N word being out of bounds, but exceptions have been made. I used that quote in a post once, but I went to the members service center first to be sure it was okay because I didn't want someone reporting me for a post with the word in it. At the time I could wait for approval because it was the OP of a thread I started, not a spur of the moment response.

Once I got in trouble at work for using the N word, but what I said was, "She is NOT a . . ." to correct one of my other coworkers who called her that. The black lady had no business accusing me of saying it.

Well, I certainly hope that this is the last caucus, and the last time Iowa is first. What a disaster!

I don't care which state goes first. People would go crazy no matter where when or where the mobile app debacle happened.

Unfortunately Iowa is a red state, so it is unlikely to switch to a primary election soon enough.

Iowa is special. They have had lot of problems in the past caucuses. This time they starting using a mobile app with no training or testing. I'd be fine if Iowa and NH were on the same date next time around, as long as they are both primaries.

I read on Wikipedia Iowa has caucuses because New Hampshire refused to give up being the first state to hold a primary election. So yes,, Iowa could consider moving it to the second Tuesday in February to do it right and have a primary instead of a caucus.

Ha, I'm a double leftie!

But are you cool with being labeled a "lefty"? Informal poll.

Apparently some people really are not - which I found surprising, but okay, their prerogative.

I am a double lefty too . . . as in left-footed and liberal. But I always say "I am left-footed" because other people hear "lefty" and think that means left-handed, which I am not.

I often think the major political parties are backward and liberal politics should be on the right side, which would be Biblical.

What does it mean to be left-footed?

What does it mean to be left-footed?

I step forward with my left foot first. I kick with my left leg. My left leg is more flexible than the right one. I take bigger steps with my left leg. All of this is natural, not learned.

See below for the delegate and popular vote tally in Iowa, with 100% reporting. Perez (the national chair of DNC said that there possibly could be minor changes, and that all the current questions have been addressed.

Bernie did indeed win the popular vote, as he said. Of course, as in the national election, that does matter in the determining of delegates.

Mayor Pete won the initial delegate count of delegate equivalents. However, the actual delegate count will be tied. I don't think that this count included the super delegates, who I presume don't need to commit at this point.
