Adam and Eve with navels is only the "appearance of history"?
Assuming they never had any umbilical cords, yes.

Okay --- let's discuss Last Thursdayism then?

You have no problem with God embedding a false 4.57 billion-year history, but embedding real age without a history gives you fits?
Again - I have no logical objection to God making this planet appear older than it actually is. Your story doesn't give me fits, it's simply impossible.

I'm starting to notice a pattern here. As long as it's God embedding something false, you're okay with it. But should He embed something real, then He's a "deceiver."

Hmmm.
On the contrary, he would be a deceiver if the Omphalos hypothesis was true. What he would be if he really did what you claim, I don't pretend to know since it's impossible anyway.

Omphalos embeds a false history into the Creation.

May I ask why a scientatheist is throwing the word "impossible" around without even knowing Who he is applying it to?

We see a universe with history.

Which means God has made the universe to look like it has a history, even though it doesn't have one.

What a crafty deceiver he is!

Yup --- real crafty.

That's why He documented what He did, when He did it, why He did it, how He did it, where He did it, and who the eyewitnesses were. Then, on top of that, preserved His Documentation throughout all history; and on top of that, commands us to spread that Documentation around. That's real crafty!

In addition, this crafty God warns us not to walk by sight, but to walk by faith.

That is real craft in action!

Indeed. It's deceptive, but logically possible. Unlike your version, which is both deceptive and logically impossible.

Do I need to? Your argument fails in regard to internal consistence alone.

So nice to see AV again ignore the real point of the post he is answering. Again.

Tom, let me make a point here that may help you out a little.

When I don't answer you (or anyone), or when I seem to ignore a point, just assume that I'm doing it because I either disagree with you, or because I've said it at least three times before, or both.

Statements like, "We see a universe with history," I've covered so many times, I'm blue in the tooth.

I have over 111,500 posts to my credit, and I have a feeling that if you excluded all the repetitive posts I've made, it would drop about a thousand or so.

Compared to me --- you're a newbie.

OK.

when He did it
Not really.

why He did it
No, he didn't.

how He did it
,
"Ex nihilo" isn't an explanation for anything.

where He did it
Obviously.

and who the eyewitnesses were
What eyewitnesses?

AV, let me make a point here. Compared to me, you're a newbie. I'm on this board a lot longer than you. Number of posts doesn't count when you never actually enter in a discussion, like you.

The history thing is a great example of this. The reason I can say with certainty that the geological record shows a history, is because I have discussed this in depth on this board and others. Before you showed up here, but discussed it nonetheless. Looked at the actual evidence. You never actually covered this claim. All you have done is handwave and ignore the evidence. I specifically asked you remember, and you admitted the extreme dishonesty you display on that topic. I'll keep pointing this out until you, just once, actually discuss these things in depth, instead of handwaving, ignoring and running away cowardly (in that specific order), afraid to face the actual facts that are there.

I'm asking you. Who was eyewitness to the creation?

The angels ---

Job 38:6-7 said:
6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

AV, if you want to say God did it as a matter of faith, that is fine with me. But when you say that God created the world with imbeded history and documented it but left no physical evidence behind and expect us to accept this as fact, you lose credibility.

Your basically saying that the fairies in the garden make plants grow, even you don't have any evidence of the fairies and ignoring the other explanation about how plants use water, soil, and light to grow.

Well, whoop-tee-la-la. Then you either haven't lurked when I've begged over and over for a specific event that occurred 4.57 billion years ago, or gave me a circular answer like:

  • Earth is 4.57 billion years old, because Zircon is 4.57 billion years old; and Zircon is 4.57 billion years old, because Zircon formed 4.57 billion years ago.
When I get answers from you guys like, "We see...we see...we see," that shuts me down quick.

I walk by faith --- not by sight.

The baseball team? How?

Ya --- here we go --- second verse, same as the first.

This is why I ignore you guys. It's just not worth seeing your antics over and over.

So the only eyewitnesses to a supernatural act are supernatural beings we cannot communicate with. Brilliant.

I have a feeling they're a little loath to communicate with us, since some were put in everlasting chains for it.

You betcha, I do. He wants the credit --- He gets it. Credit where credit is due.

But when you say that God created the world with imbeded history and documented it but left no physical evidence behind and expect us to accept this as fact, you lose credibility.

Good --- because that's not what I say. Embedded history is Omphalism, and I'm not Omphalos. Instead, I say God embedded age. (I know --- I still lose credibility, right? Since you're so hell-bent on making me look incredulous.)

Your basically saying that the fairies in the garden make plants grow...

Oh, balogna.
