  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ya know, it was. I was really pushing for Easter. But my RCIA director, Louise, really pushed for me to come in at sometime other than Easter since Easter is all about water, and baptism...

She said that since I'm a candidate it just makes more sense for me to come in during some other time of the year.

I pondered on that, and I prayed about it, and I felt that the Spirit was re-assuring me that it'll be special regardless of when I come in...

Regardless, Fr. Sacca asked if I'd be willing to stay around in RCIA to make sure I know all about Lent and whatnot.

I mean, they know I do a lot of studying and whatnot, but they just want to make sure I understand Catholic practices as a convert coming in...and that's cool.

Once again, thanks everyone!

I would like to apologize to EVERYONE for my really idiotic, insensitive comment earlier on this thread. I realize that I may have offended some of our beloved Protestant brethren, and when Fr0g pointed out to me that my words (oh the tongue! what a weapon!) hurt her, my heart was torn to pieces.

Thanks, Melani, for bringing me back to Earth, and I am sorry for my insensitive comment and pray to the Lord for forgiveness.

Bump...

As I draw closer, I sense his Spirit...I am feeling more humble as the day goes by...

This week I have been giving up something every day as a fast and as a way of giving back to Him. Friday I will be seeking Him in Adoration, and Saturday I will be spending the day in preparation starting at 8:00 when I partake in the Sacrament of Penance...

Then Sunday morning at 9:30AM, I will be received.

Please, if you remember at that time (say, around 10PST), just say a prayer. Just envision yourselves there with me.

You all have been there for me and I've learned so much from you all...

Oh boy...hear I go... ...:) You've never seen a big Bible throwin' maniac cry before, huh? :)
