  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I know how you feel, and I'm so excited for you!! It's not too much longer now! So nice to have this opportunity to reflect on my special day nine months ago. I'd never been baptized or anything in any church, anywhere, or gone through any kind of rite of initiation. It was... beyond words, how wonderful it was. I remember that wonderful, overwhelming sense of peace I felt, the first time I was referred to not as "the catechumen, Courtney" but "the newly-illumined handmaiden of God, Matrona". There aren't enough words to describe what it felt like.

Is anybody else getting confirmed with you?

Love and prayers!! :prayer:  :prayer:

Thanks everyone!

Matrona: Yes, one other person -- we're going to be having fellowship at her house immediately following.

Everyone, please pray for Charalynn as well...

Artnalex, thanks bro. I truly feel the Lord has been calling me to ministry for the last four years...and I believe his calling to His Church is the beginning of my journey into ministry. I am considering the Diaconate. But I'm going to test the spirits for a year while I work in RCIA...

Well, I've got less than 12 hours to go. I can't wait...man I can't wait.

I went to confession tonight. I was so much at peace as I walked out of the chapel. I felt more peace tonight than I did during my first confession.

Oh how great this Sacrament is! It amazes me why more Catholics won't indulge in the graces that God has given us in this Sacrament.

I'm going to be one of those people going a lot and making up stuff to confess, then having to confess again for lying in the confessional...LOL. :)

Tonight was very special for me also because I got to meet Bishop Vigneron. He blessed my new Rosary that I got for my sponsor Mike.

He said something I thought was funny...

Bishop V: So you are getting confirmed tomorrow? That's great. I bet you're excited! Are you baptized?
Me: Yes...
Bishop V: In what church?
Me: Church of the Nazarene
Bishop V: Oh good...good.
Me: Yeah, I can't wait until tomorrow morning...I think I'll be up all night.
Bishop V: Well that's what we'd call a Vigil...:)

:D LOL...

*smiles* I prayed for you in mass this morning, BAChristian and lit a candle to Our Lady.
It's such a special moment. I know that each year when 'our children from the catechism classes (catechumen in English?) had their confirmation, I was crying as if I was their own mother. It is a wonderful, strengthening experience for you, but also for all who are there to witness this moment.

Well folks...this is it.

I feel so at peace right now...so tranquil...I know God is already pouring his graces out on me.

I could barely sleep...

With that said, 15 minutes to go, and I have to leave...45 minutes until Mass starts.

Oh how I thought this day would never get here...

Praise God...:prayer:   :priest: :holy:
