Personally, I haven't heard of that, so either we don't, or we do and we call it something else. Please clarify. Sounds like this is perfect for a new thread.

pub quiz? they might in some areas, but it really hasn't caught on in my area. I think one might ask if we have "pubs" in the same sense as what you have in mind as a pub.

as to our original topic--just as there are no dancehalls, we don't really date. dating is so leave-it-to-beaver with rules and pressure.

A pub quiz is well a quiz you can be part of a team or do it yourself.. and they ask general knowledge questions.. the person /team with the most points wins

Yeah, that happens in America, but I've never been to one of those nights specifically. It would be interesting.

A lot of the pubs in London have them weekly, and you can win a good chunk of money. Good for business.

If you were Goodbook the hypothetical dream girl, you would be deeply offended by that suggestion on two counts. Firstly because you don't drink and can't believe that someone would be so obsessed with alcohol that they'd want you to go to a bar/pub with them, and secondly because you aren't interested in talking about unimportant things,which trivia literally is.
