Hi. I'm Ringo84. I joined last week but couldn't post because I went on vacation. I'm a liberal Baptist Christian, just in case anyone might be wondering.

As for the Da Vinci Code, I don't think it's as big a deal as people hav made it. I actually saw the movie with my Sunday school class. I didn't agree with what I saw, but that's OK. It's not like someone was standing outside the theater and roughing us up if we didn't agree with every part of the movie.

And I don't think that questioning your faith is bad. In fact, I think that doubt and questioning can strengthen faith. If the Da Vinci Code makes people think about theological issues and ask questions, that's a positive.

I don't see anything wrong with the Da Vinci Code.

I believe that Christians need to take this situation with The Davinci Code very seriously. I've seen many people who actually believe this book is true. It's nothing but another brutal attack on Christianity and Jesus. People need to do their research and see the truth about The Davinci Code, which is, it's just a bunch of lies grounded in more lies.

Doubting God is sin.
No it's not. What are we going to do... accept everything blindly without thinking about it? Why do you think we were given freedom of conscience? Otherwise, we'd just be a bunch of automatons who just accepted what is without thought.

But real faith comes when you can acknowledge the deeper questions of Christianity and still be a Christian. That's a much stronger faith than simply saying, "God says it, I believe it, case closed", in my opinion.

An attack on Christianity? It's a fictional novel. Christianity has survived far worse true attacks than this... persecution, genocide... and it has managed to survive for over two thousand years.

Christianity must really be weak if it can't survive an "attack" from a simple movie and book.

Forgive me, I had misread a passage and believed it was sin. It is, however, admonished against. (Proverbs 24:10, James 1:6-8)

Sorry if I came on too strong, Bernergirl. I don't want to make enemies here.
