That's a valid point, but sometimes the message is far too obvious and, in this case, far too similar to the devil tempting Eve, to be ignored.

The movie literally encouraged kids to ignore their fathers and give in to temptation. And secondly, the words "follow me into the sun" were used far too often to be meaningless. Whoever wrote this movie did not inadvertently include some subliminal messaging. This was purposeful. If you haven't seen it, I encourage you to.

I would challenge you to name ANY movie or TV show or cartoon that I could not find some sort of hidden subversive demonic anti-christian message.

You see what you want to see. You will find hidden anti-christian and satanic messages in a piece of toast if you look hard enough.

You say "follow me into the sun" is some sort of secret subversive code phrase encouraging temptation??? *roll eyes* Come on man, seriously.

I swear, conspiracy nutters are just so convinced that they and only they can see the "real" message. Puh-lease, if human beings were so easily persuaded and controlled then why not take over the entire world. Seriously, create a few cartoons and put in all the subliminal subversive messages you want. Mind control everyone who watches it and rise to power and rule all of us weak minded easy-to-control knuckle dragging mouth breathing droolers...

Stop wondering whether or not Nicolas Cage is secretly mason. If he is a successful Hollywood celebrity, he is, or some sort of luciferian sellout for sure (facts are facts and if you're going to deny them there is no reasoning with you). Now, besides that point.....

This movie definitely has esoteric and exoteric meanings.

The exoteric meaning is the one most people will understand as the feel good movie with good principles. Christians will defend this as well saying that the croods were doomed before they chose to follow the sun (or son).

The esoteric meaning, the one that only those who actually question what is going into their minds will understand is this. The croods have a Father. One who has provided rules to keep them safe from danger. The wages of not following those rules is death. (This is portrayed quite mockingly as stupid and paranoid). A guy comes along and contacts "Eep" first who can control fire and teaches her and the rest that they "surely will not die" if they don't follow the rules of the Father. Not only does he teach them this, but also has a strong fascination with the sun (most if not all ancient cults/demonic religions believed in sun worship and lucifer always portrays himself as the light.

One point in the movie the Father says "it's my job to follow the rules and protect you". Eep said that was not living, it was just surviving (YOLO!!) to which they all replied they were now going to follow guy. (The turn from God).

Th point isn't to find demonic things in everything to stay away and live in a bubble. The point is to be aware of what is going into your mind/soul so that you are not caught in a snare. You can mindlessly watch everything and say "duh... okaaaaay" with drool hanging off your chin, or you can actually try to interpret what is being said and shown. If you do not think Satan would use the most influential medium in the world to work his plan, you've grossly underestimated him.

Caught in a snare??? You mean Satan tricks me into betraying god simply because I watched a cartoon?

Look, human behavior is a lot more complex than monkey see monkey do. I saw a murder mystery the other day, so does that mean I'm now going to go kill my neighbor in similar fashion?

Your viewpoint is one of self righteous enlightenment. Only "you" can see the truth and the rest of us are just easily controlled knuckle dragging mouth breathers easily duped by hidden messages...

there will be no meeting of the minds here.

If you think the only kind of snare is if you murder someone after watching a murder mystery then that's unfortunate. The issue becomes normalcy. The more certain ideas are presented the more normal they become "tell someone something enough times they'll eventually believe it". I think that you might think that Satan just does a quick trick and as long as you don't fall for it you're all good. the best cons are always the long cons. Satan is always all about the long con. So the question is "is it really THAT bad?" It should be "what is this leading to? What is this the next step to?"

Not asking that question is what creates the overly used but accurate "frog in a pot of boiling water" example. Slow and subtle wins the race... Satan might not be able to get you... but if he works slow and methodically enough, he'll get you're decedent's through gradual deception.

Think about what is on TV now versus when TV originally aired. You think all the messed up junk sprung up overnight? At first no foul language.. then maybe they said "damn" for the first time. That would have created an uproar with some people, while others would have said "well maybe it's not that bad", then they said "ass".. well maybe it's not that bad and slowly graduates to all the disturbing things we now hear on prime time TV.

The first kiss on TV.... remember that? I don't, cause I'm too young, but I know about it... it was a big deal.. that's something that was taken seriously.. slowly longer kisses, clothes started to come off, and now it's basically porn on prime time. If you would have asked someone back before the first kiss if they thought there would be all the stuff on TV that there is now, they said "no way, you're paranoid and self righteous for actually trying to decipher what is going on in this world. Let me melt my brain in peace and you mind your own business".

How about when the Beatles said "we're bigger than Jesus"? Uproar, people tossed their records, they were banned from the radio... they had to make a formal public apology... look at all the stuff that people can say against Jesus now... happened overnight?

Before you start calling people self righteous because they refuse to put their heads in the sand for their own sake and the sake of others. Maybe, just maybe, you should check to see if you're being self righteous by saying that the people who feel lead to discernment (which God tells us to do in everything by the holy spirit) are in the wrong and are being self righteous.

No where did I even say that you shouldn't watch it. Or you're doomed if you do. I'm simply saying to be careful of what you're putting into your mind. Is that really any different than what the Bible says?

I was going to reply to this but Steve Blackburn said it better than I could, so I'm just going to encourage you to read his response again because he's exactly right.

I don't remember seeing the commercials about it. Do you mean that it talks about the cave men of millions of years ago, while we as Christians typically don't believe man was on earth that long ago?

I don't think that is true at all. Only a small segment of Christians believe in a young earth. However, if one is a member of that small segment, I can understand that one might not be aware of that.

Why is this lady saying Freemasonry doesn't contradict Christianity and everything is a conspiracy theory. I invite her to read the writings of Albert Pike 33 degree Mason of the Scottish rite who not only admitted they worship Lucifer, but composed a hymn for the fallen angel. Many other former Masons have confessed the have to renounce Christ.
Pike explains that Lucifer was unjustly punished because all he did was give knowledge to mankind and his story is basically the story of Prometheus. The croods is the story of Prometheus(Lucifer) but with an alternative ending where he is right. If you don't want to see all the parallelisms in the movie you are blind on purpose.
