"Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.”" John 8:58

I AM is God.

Jesus was crucified for making himself God, of which he was charged with blaspheme by the
Tempe Jews.
That’s not the law of Moses.

That’s not the law of Moses.
You don't understand what was meant. Try not taking the statement as
literal, but mythical.

Moses would have no law given to him without God, whom Christ is.

I do understand what was meant. And what was meant was not that He was the law of Moses.

Without Christ, the law of Moses would never have come to the Israelites.

Agreed. That doesn’t make Christ the law of Moses any more than it makes Him a giraffe, though.

I didn't really care for it either.
i watched it and felt myself starting to accept a 'mortal' Jesus but the LORD wasn't a mere man as that series tries painting him as
He was/is GOD in the Flesh.
And the show is depicting God in the Flesh. I'm not sure what your point is because the The Chosen is not in any way showing Jesus as a mere man

I don't recall scripture painting the LORD as a 'Playful' Sort,
he was here to do the Heavenly fathers will which is of the Upmost importance,
the Series paints him as something he wasn't and that was a 'part of the world',
make No Mistake the LORD lived here but much Like John the Baptist he wasn't a part of the world
Were you there? Do you have a time machine? I doubt it so really you can't say that Jesus wasn't playful. Do you really think the God that made the platypus isn't playful?

But, he was also human as well as Divine!

Exactly! You'd think, from some of these comments, that Jesus was a Holy Robot who simply preached, healed, and died. None of this "experienced everything except sin" nonsense (sarcasm obviously)

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it."
That’s not saying that He is the law of Moses. In fact, His comment means he’s separate.

Not really. He's saying that the Law is fulfilled in Him. In a metaphorical way, it fits just fine.

In the show, Jesus was driving His point home, on a way that could not be misunderstood. He used figurative language all the time in reality and the line is just fine. People get way too uptight about certain things

In the show, they had “Jesus” say something that Jesus never said. If I fulfill my vows to my wife, that does not make me a vow.

You actually don't know that He never said that. We don't know everything He said or did. The Gospels also never recorded Him say "it's raining figs." Should that have been cut?

Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses in a more perfect way than any of ever fulfilled a vow. He became the Law, and all it represented (our sin, our unworthiness) and died for us.

Besides, again, He spoke metaphorically all the time. Why is that not allowed here?

One, arguments from silence are weak. Two, He never said He was the law, and none of the apostles and prophets who wrote scripture said He was the law.

When the first series started, I posted a heads up about it.
However after a few days I came back on and repented of it asked for forgiveness because I saw the many errors that were portrayed and also had looked into the background of those involved.
I was shouted down, called legalistic etc.
But I stand by what I now say also : it is blasphemous.
I truly don't know why I watched it as I don't believe in any portrayel of Jesus full stop.
But there you see the seductiveness of it.
It is extra biblical, which is wrong, not only extra biblical but dangerous and ridiculous. From what I gather in later series Jesus asks for advice from a disciple about the beatitudes, he doubts Himself and Mary (mother) has to encourage Him (God needs help and encouragement from others??????).
No where in the Bible is a detailed physical description of Jesus given. Why???? Because man is a very visual being and prone to idolatry and nothing could fully describe our Lord.
I guarantee you that anyone whether Christian or not, shown a picture of how Jesus is portrayed in movies etc would say "that's Jesus!"
But we DON'T know. What a triumph for Satan to have the world deceived in this way.

We do not need portrayals of a supposed Jesus when we have the Bible, the perfect Word of God.
If people see the Chosen as good, then I would suggest they go back to the Bible, search the Scriptures as a Bereans and see what the real truth about Jesus is and if sure is not the "Jesus" of The Chosen.

That is seriously overthinking it. Do you know how many people are being saved because of this show? How many are coming back to the faith? This show is doing untold amounts of great Kingdom Building work.

It's not meant to be Scripture. It's a TV show that points to Scripture. At best, it's food for thought that draws people to the Word and to God.
