very well could yes.
While I'd probably sacrafice my child anyway, knowledge and rewards for my decision would certainly guarantee that outcome.

Rewards would help you sacrifice your child? I am incredulous, I can't imagine feeling that way.

Spare me your emotion and indignation.
I'd doubt anyone that claims pressure from the public and rewards in the form of acknowledgement and wealth would have zero impact on their decision. My reply didn't suggest to what degree these factors would impact me, whether it be a little or a lot. I find your response naive in regards to human nature if you believe it would have no impact though. It's an ugly fact that we might not want to acknowledge, but it's far more consistent with human behavior/motivations then this pure altruistic idea you have of yourself. Besides as far as wealth goes, who's to say how it will be spent. The money could be used for many sponsored charities, thus making your sacrafice and that of your child more significant to the lives of others.

My response was not in regards to human nature, it was in regards to how I alone feel and I stand by my statement. There is no reward that would make me more inclined to sacrifice my children. Period.

Now I don't doubt for a moment that ther are poeple who this would influenece, I am not naive.
