  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Chapter-A-Day thread.

What strikes me the most is this: If you offer a grain offering of your firstfruits to the LORD Leviticus 2:12
First fruits meant the first born of their life stock. To trust The Lord so much as to give Him the FIRST of your food as an offering WOW what faith! There was no guarantee that there would be a second birth of life stock that year... And no supermarket to go shopping at if they were short of food.
I wish I could say I had that much faith. I pray God gives me the strength to grow in my faith.

yes, that IS a lot of faith......reminds me of the widow and Elijah....she was planning her last meal with her son because she was gonna be out of food, and Elijah comes and tells her to fix their last bit of food for him, and she DOES. THAT is an amaaaaaazing faith.....

Tell me about it! I would like to say Id have that much faith but I'm not sure I would. I'm a worry wart, I worry about about things "don't matter in the scope of eternity" - as a friend used to tell me - I'm working on it, or rather God's working on me :) But I'm a work in progress.

Reading this... I was thinking about how Jesus is kind of the "sin offering" whose blood saved us. And then I puzzled myself trying to understand how other blood makes up for the sins a person has committed... maybe God requires a certain amount of blood shed for the sin, but that's not a way I like to look at a Good God. I will think on this. Somehow I have thought about this so deeply that my thoughts make no sense.

i just realized here Leviticus 5, verse 11 that Frankincense was not put on a sin offering, but in an offering of worship, which is totally different...

11 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon: for it is a sin offering.
