Now we move on to the book of Obadiah. It has only 1 chapter, yet a powerful chapter it is.

Obadiah 1:

This verse stood out for me.

It is a reminder not to gloat or mock or ridicule when anyone, especially God's people, face hardship and it may appear to be under the hand of God's chastisement.

I'm reminded of Job's suffering and how his "friends" brought him only more misery.

Now we move on to the book of Jonah.

Jonah was conflicted in soooo many ways.

Whether we may want to admit it or not, we ALL have struggled with similar issues.

Jonah 1:

LOL! This is sooooooo TRUE!!!!!

LOL! Poor Jonah...tryin'ta runnnnnnnnn from the Lord.....haven't we ALL done this to one degree or another? ^_^

"But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD." ~Jonah 1:3

Jonah 3:

Jonah Preaches.

Jonah goes to Ninevah, bless his heart. It's astounding and PRECIOUS how God's grace was sooo evident with Jonah, and another prophet He was inexplicably gracious and patient with, and that was Gideon.

Precious.

"And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey. And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them." ~Jonah 3:1-5

Jonah 4:

Jonah is angry with God.

"But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry. And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. Therefore now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live." ~Jonah 4:1-3

If we are honest, we can relate to this question to one degree or another.

Now we move on to the book of Habukkuk.

Poor Habukkuk. He is shown right before his eyes the horrors of evil seemingly allowed to go on without interference from God, and he cries out to his God about it. What a heavy and burdened and sorrowful heart he has. He wonders where God is in all of it, for He seems silent.

Now we move on to the book of Zephaniah.

It has one of the most precious verses in the entire Bible in this book that i will post when i come to that chapter.

In the meantime we're on chapter 1:

"The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah. I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD." ~Zephaniah 1:1-2
