I did not like it, really. I thought it was too sick and too absurd.

I thought it was stupid that just because the main character changed one small thing, the "bad" kid went from like killing people to class valedictorian and a perfect christian.

I also thought the plot moved much too fast. I guess there was a lot to cover, but, I think they could have done a better job at making the story cohesive.

And burning a dog in a bag? And blowing up mailboxes with small sticks of dynamite? Child pornography? Kids killing other kids? I guess that stuff happens, but that's not what I like in a movie.

I enjoyed it...but I would recommend anyone who liked it to see Donnie Darko. Deals with some simliar time travelling type themes and is much much better and though provoking. Also, other than crude language, doesn't really deal with any other offensive themes (like the violence and child pornography that Zara mentioned).

I bought the DVD the other day. It has the "Infinifilm" option, and there were three alternate endings that were shot. One was the one mentioned above in the director's cut, which also has additional scenes not in the theatre version. I don't know how to do spoilers on here, the other 2 endings were really not all great, just variations of the theater ending.

For a spoiler just do [ SPOILER=enter reason here]Type spoiler here[/SPOILER]...just remove the space in the first spoiler tag.

I thought the end of the movie was sad, when you see him walk by someone that he loved but yet could not say a thing...really sad.
I didn't see it this way at all. The fact that he seems to be married suggests he has moved on from the past...he loves someone new now. He sees her, but I got the impression that he was more happy than anything, happy to see things worked out for the both of them. Maybe just a little bit bittersweet...but I don't know it was intended to be sad.
