1. They turn and look at each other, then turn back, then he turns around and starts following her. 2. They turn and look at each other, and "meet" each other and start talking. The directors decided not to use either of those endings, because the movie was about saving her and making her life right, and if they met again it would start all over, and it would be assumed that the main character hadn't learned a lesson from all he'd been through to save her. Or something like that.

I don't think he's married at the end of the movie, I had to watch the end scene a few times, and I believe I heard him say "I love you mom".

I plan on buying it on DVD. I rented it before and didn't see that alternate ending (director's cut) yall were talking about. I liked the ending they left in the movie.

I thought it was a great movie, the directors cut alternate ending wasn't as good as I expected tho.
