The Book of Life

John sighs before answering Edie. "Yeah I know, but still, I wish I stayed back, but I did't know. Ok, time for a new subject. I, um," he said before he started to rub the back of his head like he always does before telling something very private. "I've had a crush on Yuzuki ever since I came here, and I've just already told her that a couple of seconds ago," he said as he looked at the scar on his right hand while blushing.

-flashback-
"Mom, dad, I have something to tell you, and please keep it a secret. I have a crush on a girl at school, but she's always picked on. I don't know what to do."
"Well son, the people that are picking on her will get what they deserve."

-Several years ago when he became friends with Edward -
John bends do pet his neighbor's dog, when suddenly the dog bite his right hand.

"We should probably head home....Something's wrong with the girl working the register...." Edward whispered to them. He slowly stood up, and trhew his cup away, and began to walk out, pretending to ignore the girl who was banging her head on the counter--not to be rude, but to be kind as to not embrass herself.

(((Okay, I'm moving this along....Edward needs to toss the pages of the book....If no one minds, we'll set this a week after Edward receives the book....And we can just have flashbacks of what happened during that time in everyone else's lives.)))

Edward lazily tapped his pen against the desk. He was watching the news. A criminal had taken three girls and two teachers hostage at an elementary school. Edward smiled.

"Donny Martin twirled the gun in his hand, as he sauntered around the room. "What are you idiots doing? Bring me some food!! I haven't eaten in three days, been runnin' from the cops...." he slurred, as he took another swig of his beer. One of the teachers brought him some food from the refigerator, and began gobbling it up.

Suddenly, he collapsed, clutching his chest, gasping for breath. He was having a heart attack."

Edward rubbed his eyes from sleep, and shut off the T.V. he knew it would occur in about an hour, and police reports would begin in the morning.

Yuzuki stood up and made her way out of the booth. "I'll see you guys outside." She said quickly exiting the place.

Edie whistled as she opened the door to Edward's room. He was sitting at his desk, writing again. "So... Donny Martin still your victim?" She smiled as she sat on his bed. "Are you gonna get rid of him soon? He's boring."

John was walking to his house when he saw a couple of bullies hanging around, so he decided to hide just to see what they where waiting for.

For the rest of the night, no one else came in. Dee had a small hunch that her aggrivation had something to do with it...Most of the customers left when she began banging her head. Yeah, she probly would have avoided a weirdo like her if she were in their shoes.
Work was so monotonous that week, aside from her job hunting, which wound her nerves tighter and tighter. She felt as if she was going to snap, sooner or later, but she kept up with her routine, as if she thought it would help. She amused herself imagining that her breakdown would be covered in the news, titled "Juice Bar Employee Goes Bananas!". It wouldn't be the first time corny puns were used as headlines. But the thought only helped for a minute. She decided to stop by the park, for some outdoor peace. She flopped on her stomach on a park bench, still frustrated, and screamed into her arms.

Yuzuki was walking back to her ratty apartment, after getting "groceries" one bag. An orange, some tea bags and one loaf of bread. That was it. Five bullies formed, "The Cage gang" they were following Yuzuki but she didn't know it. As they neared an alley, they acted. One of them grabbed Yuzuki and drug her into the alley. All five then started beating her for fun.

"By tommorow, it will be all over the news. I heard police reports of him before this, but he should be over and done with tommorow...." Edward said. He reached up, and grabbed the Book.

"Make sure and hide it good this time. We can't have your housekeeper finding it again, she may report you." Edward said.

At night, Edward would give the Book to Edie, which meant she had partial posession of it. This meant that she could also see the Angel of Death, Michael.

"Edie, are you going to kill some more people to please Edward?" Michael asked once Edward let go of the book. Edward could only hear Michael when at least a piece of the book was in his posession.

Edie took the book and blushed, "We're only killing bad people. They deserve it..." She muttered low. She looked at Edward. "This time I'm not letting it out of my sight. Since you already are done with Martin, who is it this time?"

 

[Ninjitsu14]

"That detective is getting smart. The first twelve victims were after school, and he quickly concluded after the first three that it had to be a high school or college student. That's why I did this...."

Edward walked over, and pointed to three lines on the second page. It described three deaths of three different criminals, but the times of death were at 9:47 A.M., 11:21 A.M., and 2:14 P.M.

"I wrote these ahead of time as an experiment to see if it would work....It could also work, in case you and I are hospitalized...Because, if we were, then deaths would stop occuring, and they would be able to accuse us.....So, if it works, we can start writing deaths of criminals weeks in advance." Edward said, closing the book.

"Hide it in your jacket. My parents are downstairs." Edward explained.

 

[WhiteLily]

"Okay." She tucked the book into her jacket and stood. "I promise that no one will find this again. And Edward... I was wondering... Actually I was thinking..."

"Hmm?" Edward asked, resuming his Geometry homework that he was doing before he started watching the news. he needed to get to bed soon.

(((Btw, that video you posted, AMAZING. Imma gonna show it to my youth pastor, and probably in all my classes where the teachers will let me show it.)))

Edie sighed and stood behind Edward, "I think you would already know this Edward, but I just wanted to tell you myself. I think I'm in love with you."

ooc: Thanks, my dance group is going to be dancing it soon. I hope we can do it justice. It is so amazing.

Edward didn't know what to say to that. Obviously, he had considered it--but, being in love with Edie would only complicate things, and if either of them were killed, it would end the other's resolve to carry out the mission. Of course, there may be a way to remedy this.

"I'd like to talk to you more about this....Really, I would, but....Nows not the time. I'm not upset with you or anything. Let's just wait until tommorow, so we have time to think about.....this, more...." Edward said, smiling at her. "Now, be carful. You never know who's out there."

Edie nodded silently, her head down. She gave a little smile, "Because the three steps I have to take across our lawns is so long, someone could jump me. I'll see you tomorrow. Call me when you want this back." She turned and walked out. She waved cheerfully to Edward's parents then went out the front door.

"you know what I'm talking about....We don't need another Anthony incident......" Edward said.

"Speaking of which, he should be out of juvinile tommorow. I'm not looking forward to that." Edward mused, as he resumed the final problem.

Edie went straight to her room, her parents were at another dinner somewhere so she could have done this in the livingroom, but she didn't want to chance someone walking in. With a sigh she pulled the Book out and laid it on her bed. She flipped to an empty page and thought a minute and began writing. Then the voice started again, "Kennedie, why are you doing this? He's only human."
"Because, what if he tries something again. He's gonna get wha he deserves, finally."
"He paid his debt in prison. Kennedie..."
"Shut up, Michael!" Edie screeched, her voice raising an octave. The voice stopped as Edie wrote again. She would allow Anthony to have some time to see his family again, see Edie again, maybe meet Edward, John and Yuzuki. But his time was up.
