I think I knew that. Keaggy recorded 4 different versions of that song for his Crimson and Blue album. 3 of them appeared on the out-takes disc "Revelator," the short "radio version" and 2 with extended Strat and LesPaul solos. The song was listed as "Traditional." But I did hear the original on the radio later on.

I originally posted a vid of the strat version, but the images were rather wacky so you will have to look it up yourself if you want it.

Me too, and I am self-taught.

This might be a bit of a stretch too. He's a country guy, and I think there's some jazz chords in there, but it's got a bluesy feel and is some fine playing of a fine composition.

Yeah, I think every blues/folk artist has a song about Stagger Lee. Off the top of my head, I can add Dylan and Taj Mahal.
