Hey, Mesue, I notice lots of people like you, but you haven't picked any buddies for yourself. It's easy. click the little
b.gif
icon on anybody's post to see their buddy list. Then you can add them to yours and see who are their buddies' buddies. If you clickyour own buddy list you can see who has picked you as a buddy, and go to their buddy lists to add them to yours.

It's kinda fun. You have a lot of people who want to be your buddy!

I actually do kinda like the new "friends" feature - bouncing around there seeing who is linked to whom. A sort of CF Six Degrees of Separation thing!

I've put some of you on my list, and some of you are now my official CF friends!

Check it out.
Yeah I see catlin cares has 33 links wow. It is a pretty cool feature, you are right :)

Click the little buddy icon (can't post graphics right now because the graphics server is down, but I pointed it out before) on your own post. Look at the list of people who have linked to you. Click on their names and see who is linked to/from them. Also, when you click their names, you will get a chance to add them to your buddy list. If you and someone else are both buddies to each other, they become your "friends" and their avatars appear on your buddy screen - if they have one. I don't. But the name will appear in the friends area even if they don't have an avatar.

It's kind of interesting to me to see who is connected to whom. Sometimes they seem to be unlikely people and you wonder why. It's a way of getting to know people better, I think. Just fellowship.

Speaking of icons...

I finally picked an avatar. I wondered what everybody here might think of it. Is anyone offended?

I picked it because I was looking for an avatar that would represent Crazy Liz from The Brothers Karamazov, and St. Xenia is a Fool for Christ, which Crazy Liz was suspected of being.

What do y'all think?

You reminded me that I still have to finish The Brothers Karamzov. I only got through the first few chapters before I had to return the book. Maybe that will be my next book CD for our next driving trip.

Since I can't really make out what is in the picture, and I don't know the context of the character Crazy Liz or St. Xenia, I'll say I like it. :)

Great! Let's talk about it when you finish the book.

Here is the website where I got the icon, which also has a couple of poems and biographical sketches. The only things she has in common with Crazy Liz in TBK are that they are both Russian and Crazy Liz is suspected by some as possibly being a Fool for Christ,a category of saints that Russians particularly revere, which causes many of them to be particularly kind to people who are mentally ill. Father Zossima and Prince Mishkin are other Dostoevsky characters that have some other characteristics of Fools for Christ.

A modern woman often called a Fool for Christ was Dorothy Day.
