  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I frankly don't understand why a number of people are so afraid of nakedness, especially modern-day Christians. It's just skin, and the way that God creates us. I don't buy into any belief system that teaches being naked is sinful or shameful, it is all rubbish.

People who teach this play into the hands of the devil and give him, not God, what he wants.

Ok so what do you think the bible is talking about when it says we should dress modestly?

tgg, alot of your friends have been getting arrested at our local beach for public nuisance.
It is not very safe at the moment for women to walk alone which is very sad.
I don't think you would care anyway. From what I can gather from your comments, you have a problem with women and a problem with authority.

Hi,

Well, this event is only one week away now and I'm so excited. I seem to have garnered a cult following with readers of the Westside news, but the other day I took a stroll down Toowong whilst meeting the police and nobody recognised me.

This same thread has become quite possibly the most popular thread on the time off website so far this year, with a couple of their forum members saying that they'd do it.

I cannot understand why such a lot of people here, especially Christians, are so opposed to an event like this. In fact, I've had a couple of Christian friends of mine offer to do the ride as well. One of them posted on my Australian Christian Naturist site as to whether he should attend it, or the interfaith meeting which is on the same day. One bright spark suggested that he ride along to the meeting in the buff.

Haahahahahahahha, yeaahhh I'm sure that'd go down well with the Muslims who'd be present at it.

So far, most of the response to the bike ride has been positive from the media side of things, except for the moronic brekky djs at 97.3 fm who thought that there was something wrong with me, and the female presenter just yelling 'o.m.g, o.m.g, o.m.g' all the time. Not listening to that station again! I even had one cowardly old woman who refused to identify herself ring me on my *PRIVATE HOME NUMBER* to express her disgust, in which I hung up on her.

I even had one entire 'Letters To The Editor' section of the Westside news dedicated to the event. One letter described me as being a 'gutsy role model', (hehehehehe, as some of you guys who know me in person would know that I've got a few extra kilos!!), whilst the best letter came from a mum whose 2 year old toddler saw my photo, went in the back yard, peeled off his clothes and hopped on his tricycle. GOLD!!!

  :D :D

So tgg are you going to explain your view on the biblical instructions to dress modestly?

Hi,

Well, it's now 31 hours till the Brisbane World Naked Bike Ride.

A point of order: the police escort who's going to be there on the day has now demanded that everyone wear at least a g-string or some swimming shorts for the event or else they will be making arrests. It seems like that they've caved into the demands of the gymnophobes instead of giving the participants and the media what they want. The police officer said that he finds nudity offensive, especially around kids, yet he calls himself the 'friendliest officer' out there. Basically, anyone who doesn't empathise or sympathise with my philosophies of life is *NOT* my friend, nor do I consider them friendly!

Anyway, we're going to have a raffle in which the prize is going to be a naturist video called 'Nature's Paradise' with the proceeds going to helping save the walrus. I haven't managed to get an official body painter for the event, so I'd advise participants to get a paintbrush and I'll also get some acrylic paints from the news-shop.

People are still welcome to turn up on the day if they want to. This is not a commercial event, and everyone who attends is there at their own risk. I will not be accepting responsibility for any injuries or bad behaviour on anyone else's behalf.

Warning: if anyone heckles or disrupts this event in any way, they will also face arrest.

So, be there or be square at:

I think you'l find people have the right to protest whatever they like, so long as they do it legally.

Not that I'll be wasting my time... :)

So tgg am I going to get an answer on your understanding of the biblical instruction to dress modestly and how this ride meets that? Yes or No and when can I expect an answer? You have posted twice since I first asked a fortnight ago indeed you even saw fit to threaten people with being arrested if they happen to disagree with you. Surely you could answer my simple question if you want us to understand instead of making threats which can't neccesarily be enforced anyway.

At least some smart Police Officer. You know how much damage you do to any Church, or to Christianity itself?
I hope you don't call yourself a Christian. You should be ashamed of yourself!

The Brisbane WNBR got about 32 people showing up for it, about 25% of them being females. 11 people I invited to who said they'd turn up didn't end up doing so in the end, and didn't even let me know.

There were media people from radio station 4ZZZ (the KROQ of Brisbane), Channel 10, and Westside News. Also had two naturist film makers present - one of them being Charles McFarland from Synetech Video and a young budding upcoming one called Rebecca James who is doing a documentary about nudity for a production she's submitting to the ABC.

The crowd was very well behaved after police warnings that anyone who exposed their genitalia would be arrested. The police completely monopolised on the event - something which has never happened with other bike rides before. There were no arrests, but two girls were stopped by the cops towards the end of the ride after someone made a complaint after seeing their breasts - and they were painted up as well! They weren't too pleased, but they complied anyway. I don't really understand why women should have to keep their chests covered in this day and age - they're allowed to on the beach, for breastfeeding, and in gentlemen's clubs. I dunno....

We went to the Regatta Hotel and had a chat about the next year's ride together with starting a new naturist group in Brisbane for young adults.

I'm not going to bother looking at the photos... though i have a question... why are you wearing jeans and a shirt when i thought you were a strong advocate for this ride to be done fully in the nude?

In light of the success of the bike ride, a film maker friend of mine who was present is doing a documentary about nudity and naturism which she wants to submit to the ABC later this year. She wants to examine the subject from all angles, and would like perspectives from both sides of the coin.

It'd be interesting for her to get a 'traditional' Christian response.

Should you wish to contact her, you can do so at: bec@braveproductions.com.au and let her know that I referred you onto her.

Hi,

For anyone who has struggles with my lifestyle and philosophy of life, you might like to consider posting to the forum on this site as well:

http://www.cnvillage.org

I just joined it last night as 'fatpizzaman', and it is run by a Seventh Day Baptist Christian from Denver (Colorado) in America. They are an open and friendly group, and have several forums dedicated to a variety of topics like this one. Some of them don't allow naturist related posts.

So let's go back to your naturist way of living.
My dear Friend, I have no Problem with this IF, you keep it private. The Bike Ride was unfortenly not a good ad. for your cause. You did wrong in going public with it. Keep it to yourself, fenced in and People will live you alone.

HEY! I remember you...! you used to post as "Crashedman" and I remembered some of your battles with Bevlina with your nudity issues...!

C'mon man, you're gettin' nowhere with this...no amount of persuasion will get anyone to believe any of this fits or supports the Bible at all.
