I for one think Lance still should have found the scarab. He said he looked for it for 2.5 hours, but I don't believe him. I don't know why, I just don't. In not finishing the Roadblock it looks like they wimped out. At least finish it then say Marshall can't go on to the Pitstop. Then you can have Phil magically appear!
I would like to see a timer by each team when they are competing in a task. It would be nice to know how long it took GUS to herd her sheep before she died!;)
Anyone else willing to say next week is another non-elim? It has to be within the next 2 episodes in order to squeeze 4 in.
Listen when Phil starts talking about the pitstop. He will omit any mention of the last to arrive being Philiminated.

The Oh Bothers are holding watching parties every Tuesday night. There's links to photo albums (the dates of the parties on the page) and for the premier Wifebeater and Christie, Marsha sans Major Dad, Alex from season 2, and Dennis and Erika were there. It looks to me like Erika's had "some surgery" since the Race.

Hon?

Thanks but I'll pass. I'm not much of a drinker. I've had enough drunks in my life to have the ugly side of it permanently etched into my psyche. But I get your joke. Very droll.

I really liked this last show... Going to Egypt must have been really cool.

The thing that I thought was really funny is how everyone was complaining about how cold it was in Russia.... it gets a lot colder here!
One of my daughters loves all things Egyptian. We were really excited to be able to see it.

When comparing the weather in Russia to "here", it would have been nice if you would have said where "here" was.

Got to agree with that- I've disliked them ever since that "Useless Foreigner" comment in the second episode.

News flash- when you, an American, are in Uruguay... surprise- YOU"RE THE FOREIGNER!
Thank you Bradford for pointing out that the brothers often said things which were either ignorant or just blatently rude when they got frustrated. It was one of the reasons I didn't like them in the beginning.

"It's called a lance, Hello" A Knights Tale...it's not necessary to imply that all Americans need a lesson in how saying something like this would be idiottic. Thanks anyway.

I can't believe no one except for Mirna and Charla went to look for a better time out of Frankfurt. You would think it would be logical to see if you're in a race and not try to see if you can get a better flight out. It's their idiotic fault the other teams didn't think about it and sat on their tushes while Mirna and Charla went about doing their business. Then they have the audacity to complain about them not sharing the info about a better flight.
Their initiative didn't make any real difference.

Side note about Mirna and Charla...is anyone else tired of hearing them talk inceasantly about what the other teams think about them? Do they honestly think anyone cares?! What unbelievable self centered arrogance!!! Get a clue....it's not all about you!
krstlros said:
You have to admire Lance and Marshall for just making the effort this leg. I just felt so bad they couldn't complete it because Lance couldn't walk anymore.

Colin is starting to get on my nerves. Granted Mirna and Charla shouldn't have just jumped into their cab. However, one of the two should have stayed in the cab while the other went into the terminal for the information. And personally speaking, Colin shouldn't be swearing at anyone that way no matter how mad they get.
I do admire Lance and Marshall for how they played the game in the end. Good for them.

I think their prior dealings with Charla and Mirna lended to the hostile attitudes towards them. You mention cussing... I did notice Mirna cussed a lot this last episode. What a foul mouth she has.

Okay...I'm tired of addressing comments...I'm going to make some of my own.

I'm glad that the Palmdalians (Bowling Moms Linda and Kathy) did well this last round. Those people were so generous to them. And I was so frustrated when their driver repeated that he understood what they meant by "old airport" and yet took them to the new one. What a stretch of luck that the plane was late and they didn't miss it. I thought sure they would. I felt really sorry for Linda digging so long and not finding the scarob sooner. But I was really glad that she didn't give up even being as tired as she was. She did not keep digging in one space as someone suggested earlier, she just kept throwing the dirt in the middle which might have made it appear so.

Is it me, or did anyone else find it really odd that hardly anyone knew what a scarab was? "I think it's a sword?" He (Colin) must have been thinking of Scabbard" (spelling checked by USincognito) Seems like this would be common knowledge.

Sorry that the brothers quit because of pain. But, I admired that they didn't try to finish knowing that there was no point to it. They kind of grew on me towards the end. I beleive that you can tell a lot about a person by their closing comments. They really were very supportive of each other and they played their best.

Wasn't it weird that last week Mirna begged off the challenge because of clausterphobia, and this week she had to go 300 feet down a very close tunel? I started getting tunnel vision watching them do that. Glad it wasn't me. I think I should give up hoping that these two will loose. People who will do anything for a game without seeming to have any concept of morality or society always seem to win in the end. It makes me sick...but it's not like I'm shocked by it.

Chip and Kim played a great game. Glad Kim could contribute by doing a challenge. I understand why she would feel that way. But I have to tell you, she's very blessed to be married to a man who does what needs to be done and doesn't make her feel bad when she already feels bad about something. I'm routing for them. And the Bowling Moms of course. And Colin and whatshername.

Didn't really notice "the Twins" or the "Christian models" this time around. :D I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad one. :D

Pizza's here...it's my daughers 6th birthday...so going to stop typing now. I know with long posts they're not probably read anyway. But anywhoooooo See you all next week.

Russia and Alaska are similar because there are a lot of Orthodox around. ;)

I should have posted this a few weeks ago, but I was watching the Simpsons tonight and suddenly remembered a scene. Homer is looking at a globe and spying a particular country in South America calls it "You are gay" and chuckles. :D

WS - "Scarab" and "Scabbard." (and yes, I used spell check for scabbard)

USincog we were speaking of the weather similarities between Russia and Alaska. But if you think it's important enough to comment on religion being the similarity then I'm sure you'll also want to acknowledge the more obvious reason of Russia previously owning Alaska. Furthermore, the similarities in the weather I'm sure are due to them being in the same northern hemisphere. Okay...I'm done explaining my comment to someone elses casual remark about the race teams complaining about the cold in Russia. Talk about rabbit trails!

And thanks for going to the trouble to check my spelling of the remark I quoted Colin making. I would have thought my saying that I wasn't going to check the spelling (because I didn't think it was important enough to waste my time on) would have prevented you from going to the trouble. But okay.

Wisdom Seeker, are you really in Sweden???!! If so, you get to see the current American Amazing Race there? Please tell me how, I'd really appreciate it!!! :)

My husband is from Sweden & my two little stepsons just went back after spending the summer here. The oldest is 11 & he got completely HOOKED on The Amazing Race, so we were hoping he could see the rest when he got back home last week. He lives in Lulea & I know he gets a lot of channels. He may have even figured it out by now....

One thing I hadn't noticed about last week's episode is that when Colin bumps Mirna on the way out of the temple ticket line, Mirna is in that queue because she was trying to cut in front of the line.

From the episode recap:
Television Without Pity said:
Of course, Mirna feels that she's been violently wronged. You can actually see that she successfully maneuvers herself in front of Brandon, who appeared to be waiting in the correct line. As she stands there, having just cut in line, she whines, "Don't push me like that again! Where did that guy go?" It's just completely comical. She butts in line by going against the flow of traffic, and when she gets jostled, she decides that Colin should have...I don't know what. There was literally nothing for him to do. Did he enjoy it a little? Yeah, probably. That's how adrenaline works. As I said on the forums, if that had been two guys, I don't think anybody would have batted one eyelash, and I'm not inclined to get all morally outraged, as if Mirna is going to break in half just because she's a girl. You try to force your way into a line, you get bumped a little. That's life in the big city, Mirna.

And now, in a voice-over, Mirna's delusions truly begin to take flight. "I think Colin is jealous of me," she says. Yes, that would be the very jealous Colin, who has finished ahead of her for several legs, and who is ahead of her as we speak. "And he has a Napoleon complex," she says. Yeah. You know, Colin may not be especially tall, but he's not short enough for that to be a particularly good dig, particularly when he's taller than she is, as you can see when they pass each other in line. "This crazy person is trying to assault me," she adds. And by "crazy person," she means "person who keep beating me in every leg," and by "assault me," she means "go faster than I'm going." She goes on to lecture that Christie is "submissive," and Colin can "dominate her." The interesting thing is that that may or may not be true, but I don't see why it would give Mirna anything to crow about. ["I think we can file that one under 'Even a broken clock is right twice a day.'" -- Sars] Furthermore, I would love -- love -- to see her reaction if any other team did what she just did, ignoring the line and butting in front. She would have them arrested for attempted murder.

I know I probably won't get my wish that they be eliminated tonight. Or, as things go, they'll come in last and it will be a non-elim. We're due for a non-elimination leg either tonight or next week. My prediction is that either the Moms or the Twinkies come in last tonight.

Arwen that recap was so funny! Thank you for posting it. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

I think Mirna's problem is that she gets mad at any man who doesn't pine for her the way she thinks they should. She's so obviously attracted to him and jealous of Christi.

I've known people like Mirna before. There isn't anything you can really do other than shake your head and try not to be around them. Or.... pummel them into the ground. Either way they'll always be the victim. Because it's all about them. Oh well...I watch week after week thankful that I'm not in the race with her.

USCog., Did I go too far? Sorry. I'm not insensitive...just tell me I've gone too far and to dial it back a notch. I don't do it because I don't like you. I only tease you because you seem to give as good as you get. Hey, haven't we been over this before? I thought we settled this back when Survivor was on? Seriously...I think you're great. In the words of Billy Joel "Don't go changing...to try and please me..." :D ;) (I hope that didn't sound like Mirna thinking "it's all about me" That would be embarrassing. )

Don't worry, Wisdom Seeker, in order to be Mirnish you'd have to say, "USincognito is disGUSting!" Or something like that. ;) :D

Did you read the whole recap on the site? I look forward to those every week!
