I grew up in the church. I have read the entire bible many times over.

I always get a kick out of some Christians assuming a non believer has never read or studied the bible. The fact is, many have studied the book quite closely and in many cases, much more so than many Christians.

I will pass. You have already demonstrated that you do not know enough about the Bible to have a conversation about it. We better stick to science, as you may know a little bit more about that subject.

This is what happens every time I start asking for evidence for biblical claims.

Call it "the get out of jail free card". When asked to support their claims, they state; you wouldn't understand anyway.

You gotta love it.

I would agree that the psychology involved is quite interesting. What some theists say of atheists reveals much more about the theist than it does the atheist.

Oh ya, it's the very clan and the very same dogma
It never ceases to amaze me to watch religionists use their own nomenclature in the pejorative.
Your problem is that I'm *more* familiar with their ideas than you are,
You do not show this in your posts.
Ya, it's amazing that evangelical atheists seem to "care" about the topic of "God", but they apply completely different standards to the idea than any concept in "science".
Not my problem.
Nah, it was actually a generic observation. You're certainly not alone in 'not caring', that's for darn sure.
It's not like it will affect the price of milk at the market.

I didn't think so.
It's the thing that people pray to on a daily basis, and the thing that changes their lives according to their testimonies.
An emotional safety blanket, or an imaginary invisible friend. I never had a need for that sort of thing.

I answered 5 of your question and passed on one. I would hardly call one out of 5 "every time".

One of the cases of learning about what the theist thinks by listening to their description of atheists. The way they try to insult atheists by claiming they have faith really gives you an idea of how they view their own faith. The fact that they have use words like evangelizing and religion as insults . . . well, that really says it all.

Well, you got that going for you.
We often operate under a paradigm that looks for truth only in the detail, ignoring the big picture. Reductionism comes with its own seductive logic so that people laboring under its spell can't see there is another way to look at it. (Campbell)

Where did you present evidence that the biblical claims are true?
I do not know what system you use but at the top of my page there is an ALERT button. That will list all of my responses to your questions and comments.

Good. I just wouldn't be surprised, that other people ask you to provide support for what you claim.
My position is that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Do you really want to attempt to present a defence for reductionism?

I have made no claims, so I have to defend nothing. If you make claims, expect people to ask you to support them.

Can you handle that?

I didn't think so.

Any you whine about my debate techniques? Wow.

An emotional safety blanket, or an imaginary invisible friend. I never had a need for that sort of thing.

I hate to break it to you but the "God" that I believe exists is quite "visible' during the night and during the day, unlike dark energy, dark matter, and inflation. You're the only one that needs imaginary invisible friends to put an "age" on the universe, not me.
