  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was able to make a big pot of Minestrone soup for 9 people, clean the house before they showed up, and got my Christmas tree all decorated and looking beautiful!

And the snow here just keeps on fallin' ! 3 inches tonight, hoowee!

"Well it doesn't show signs of stoppin', but I brought some corn for poppin'. And since we've no place to go, Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!" :D

Reorganized the coat closet, cleaned and organized the storage room again because it got flooded the weekend after Thanksgiving thanks to a pipe being broken, reorganized the office (which was also impacted by the busted pipe), did laundry, cleaned the kitchen, called payroll, attemted to pick up a package (failed), exercised the dog, put moving supplies in the car for Kirk's cousin, took a bunch of stuff back to the inlaws, put stuff in the attic, put away laundry.

I got out of bed today!

It's cold and rainy so this was a big one.

And last night I shocked my wife to near-silence.
I. Cleaned. The. Bathroom!

-Without being told
-Without being asked
-I did it in preparation for my SIL coming into town today
-I did a GOOD JOB
-While staying cheerful
-I even cleaned the PLUNGER

My wife sat in the hallway on the floor watching me the whole time with her mouth hanging open. It was priceless.
^_^

Then she was asking me to take the trash out and I said, "oh I took it out already while you were in the bathroom."
I think she was glad she was sitting so she wouldn't fall out!

And today at work I am doing some work going thru an online JavaScript tutorial. I've really been trying to turn over a new leaf and get on the ball more. Problem was a few months ago right after I got really serious about helping out more and actually did start doing more big jobs around the house (like moving furniture, taking old lawn mowers to the dump...hard work!) *pow* I got a hernia and had to have surgery! FAIL!

So now I'm back to normal pretty much and I'm trying to get back on track.

Got up at 6:00 am, was to hospital by 7:15 am, survived the treadmill stress test :), left hospital and stopped at store to gulp down a large coffee to get rid of the caffeine withdrawal headache (no caffeine for 24 hours for the stress test), came home, cleaned kitchen, replaced a string of lights outside, put lights in the trees outside (finally lol), went to work, came home, chatted with family, now typing on here :)

Saw the shrink. Ducked seeing some people I did not want to deal with and met up with some people I like to deal with. Got relaxed to the point my TMJ went away for a bit. Eating some oysters on crackers. Listening to Andre Bocelli and Sara Brightman go on about how its time to say goodbye. Life is good.

I had a most productive day, and those always make me feel awesome so I thought I would share (and it isn't over yet!)
I woke up and got ready, went to work at the high school for a couple of hours (a volunteer position helping the band). Came home, had a great treadmill run (though not as far as I had hoped). Showered, etc. Cleaned my house to acceptable level (not a spring cleaning by any means, but no dog hair to be seen and the toilets are clean and there is no laundry!). Made 150 mini muffins for a meeting at work tomorrow, only to have my husband discover them and think they would be a good idea for his birthday treat. So, another 150 mini muffins for his work. Then cream puff shells for the Christmas party tomorrow night, followed by a pie crust, and now the lasagna is in the oven. Somewhere in there I managed to walk to town and get my hair cut, mail a card to my grandma-in-law, give a flute lesson and now I have 5 minutes before my next lesson. When it is done, I will finish my husbands "birthday dinner" (since the christmas party is tomorrow night we are having his favorite foods tonight) by making his mom's famous cheesy bread and finishing my lemon merengue pie. He insists it has to be falling apart, oozing fresh, so I will make it while he eats his lasagna and cheesy bread. Then, if I'm lucky, I will finish the day by trying my run again (because "testing" all of my baked goods really added to my calories today!) and a nice shower.

Helped wife and SIL clear out the Man Cave to move out old computer desk (which is up for grabs!) and move in new bookshelf. This included moving and sorting a ton of junk out of one corner and another ton that was piled all over the desk. Not quite finished, but the room looks much better now.
