After I perilously got her to install some anti-virus software and run it, she called me back saying it was done and needed to install new software to kill the virus. I was like: STOP! Don't touch anything! Tell me exactly what you're seeing, do NOT click on anything.

It was a virus, recognizing that she'd been running a virus scan and trying to fool her into installing more viruses by pretending to be anti-virus software. Her real scan hadn't finished yet.
