Being new. I wish I could say I am surprised by the pro abortion views of Christians on a "Christan" site but I'm not.
Dude, you can't use evil to do something good. Abortion is wrong and evil. You can't think it's God's will we find cures from the murdering of a child. A wrong doesn't make a right.<Staff Edit>
The irony here is, denying and opposing embryonic stem cell research is more pro-death than most wars and armed conflicts.
500,000 - 600,000 people die every year in the US to cancer. Then when you think of other ailments like diabetes (29 million have diabetes) the number of people who will die or have severe health problems per year is in the millions...
And Embryonic Stem cell research has a high probability chance of either curing or treating the above afflictions.

It's other posts and the very callous attitude. Joking.Objecting to passing a useless law, which is going to be struck down, counts as being pro abortion?

Where did anyone say anything remotely "pro-abortion"? Cite or retract.Being new. I wish I could say I am surprised by the pro abortion views of Christians on a "Christan" site but I'm not. It's crap like these pro abortion views of Christians which why I don't attend any church community. I haven't any issues with Christianity. It's Christians I want no part of. And this thread and the tolerance of these views is a perfect example of why I struggle with it.
Showing respect for the dead isn't useless.
Miscarriage (which is all he was talking about) is murder now? Gosh.Dude, you can't use evil to do something good. Abortion is wrong and evil. You can't think it's God's will we find cures from the murdering of a child. A wrong doesn't make a right.
Has anyone explained whose going to provide all these "respectful burials" for miscarried foetuses? Or what constitutes "respectful burial" in the first place? Do they each get a coffin? Grave? Church service?

Showing respect for the dead isn't useless. Texas is trying to show some CHRISTIAN decency in the face of an abominable law. But I'm speaking with an Atheist. So.
One could argue that it actually does the opposite, turning the dead fetuses into a liability to their parents. How's that for "respect"?The intention of the law is to make it more expensive to get an abortion. It has nothing to do with "respecting the dead".

All this really does is promote unsafe abortions. It looks good on paper and makes you feel good inside, but in reality, it does nothing but make safe abortions harder to get, which in turn makes desperate women make unsafe decisions. The way to reduce abortion, because we're likely never to stop them completely, is by allowing better sex education, as well as easier, better, and cheaper access to birth control and other women's healthcare services.
How does that make abortions less expensive?
