April 25, 2002... The day I was saved and became a Christian. I'll never forget that day, nor the memories I have shared with my Christian friends. My testimony is long so be prepared.

In December of 2001 I had been talking to my friend online one night and we got into the discussion of church. She was kind of preaching to me, and back then, I was totally against religion. Don't ask me why, I just was. I flat out told her that she was wrong for believing in God, that God wasn't real, no proof of exisitance, etc you get the idea. Boy oh boy that wasn't the best idea. My friend got so mad at me she would not talk to me the whole day the next day.

But the next day that evening she logged on IM and we talked and sorted things out. Finally she invited me to her church and said she would prove to me that I was wrong about everything I had said about God. I refused in the beginning but she begged for me to go. So I went.

I have to say that if my friend had not invited me to her church, I would never have become a Christian.

I sat through 2 services, and sang Christimas hymn, and for the first time in my life, I began to get interested in God, and I wanted to learn more about him. I hugged my friend after church, thanking her for letting me go with her. She just said, "I told you" :)

Throughout the next few few months, I was deeply searching for the truth. All my friends played a part in helping me. One friend introduced me to the Bible and read me her favorite passages. Her and other friend took me to my own church one day. Then I met my Pastor for the first time, and we had a meeting with him and a tour of the church. I was deeply interested.

Then I started attending church services with my friend who went to the same church as me. She helped me get to know people in my youth group and my youth leader. I was really shy then, but now I'm really outgoing with all of them.

Even my non-Christian friends played a part believe it or not. One of my Wiccan friends gave me her Bible to borrow. And told me she was so happy that I was finally believing in something. She gave me hugs and was so happy for me. No lie! :)

Her Bible was too hard to read for me, since this was my first time. So my mom bought me a children's Bible to read. That helped a lot.

Finally in the end of April, I had finished reading the Children's Bible, as well as devotions. I had also prayed my first prayer in January, and found my first sign of God. After attending church services for the past 2 or 3 months, I found myself ready to accept Christ, and on April 25, 2002 I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior.

I was so happy I sent an e-mail to all my Christian friends telling them about this. One e-mailed me back saying that she had been having a really bad day that day, but when she read my e-mail she was overjoyed. :)

So to this day I still struggle, but I'm slowly getting there and never giving up. I have joined the church bell choir and I'm getting confermed next week as well!

And I guess that's about it. Forgive me I know it was really long. God Bless you all!

I also went to church for about 2-3 months before I was ready to be saved. Everyone marveled at what a short amount of time it took, did they do that for you too? Because...from an outside persepctive it seems so short, but when the Lord is working in you day after day it seems like an eternity.
Thank you so much for sharing your story, it's very similar to mine and it's wonderful, I'm so happy for you and it gives me encouragement to continue on in my path as well.
