Consider that a God who is allegedly the source of perfect justice (Take off every Zig!)

You know, AV may say he "pwns" everything in site, but all his base are belong to us...

(I.e. his foundational principles are those of science, which he then tell to take a hike..)

has perpetrated the greatest mockery of justice imaginable by holding all of creation responsible for the act of two of His own children who had no way of knowing that what they were doing was wrong in the first place.

And then sacrificed himself to himself to make it all better.

Just in this thread only, I'm a YEC --- pwn me.
I'll give it a go:

logically all actions are determined by the "whole" that came before it. If god created the "whole", then sin, the fall, and objective morality is impossible.

It folows that the bible is false, and there goes YEC.

No "hole jokes" please :)

And a YEC might be able to show you how "Embedded age" violates the Scriptures. Afraid to find out?

Not at all --- if he did that, I'd switch my profile to YEC in a heartbeat.

Actually, I'm not --- I'm just a YEC wannabe; but I don't think I can properly defend that position. Not yet, anyway.

I understand --- but I didn't --- and I'm the one taking a YEC stance in this thread.

Add to the fact that I'm KJVO, sola Scriptura, and antagonistic toward secular science in general, I'd say you guys have an uphill battle.

And before anyone faults me for it, keep in mind that you guys are also the very same thing with your "bibles."
the computer you are using proves scienses validity. I would think that disrespecting the creation by favouring the bible is disrespecting god. The rocks do cry out - they beam out their age in radioactive decay which we can messure. And we mesure it. simple as that.

Show me where the computer I'm using was built by science that violates Scripture.
the same scientific method that enabled computers at our level to be researched and buildt was used to research and "proove" things that debunk yec - Radiometric dating and geology being some examples.

My point: The scientific method works, as your computer is an example of, because it gives predictions and results. So you can't say "science can take a hike" without being a hypocritical person.

In order to hold that view, you have to discard all science - not just that which on the face of it contradicts the bible (radiometric datingmethods) but also the rest.

I'll try to dig up some data or articles on computers to see if i can tie that in with some science you think is bogus - I'm sure there are some prosesses of decay involved at the nano level of micro chips... It'll have to be later though, because I have to write some text for my supervisor to readthrough...

Why do you want to be a YEC? Why not just be content with what you already believe?

I suspect it's because since he rejects anything which violates Scripture, yet feels compelled to invent concepts such as "Embedded Age," he's worried that he may inadvertantly come up with an original thought which violates Scripture.

That's an issue you rarely see among YECs -- they're almost Borg-Like in their collectiveness and single-mindedness. When all your ideas come out of a book, there's little room for dissent.

Would you abandon the computer if we could?

(of course, that would include abandoning every tool and gadget in your life with some sort of computer in it -- Have you considered going Amish?)

This doesn't even address the question. Do you have something specific you want to show me, or are remarks like these ---

It lets me know if the question is worth addressing.

Your nine cents can take a hike. ;)

No.

Build your fancy machines that count Carbon atoms (or whatever); but until you can build one that can do this:

[bible]2 Kings 6:17[/bible]

--- radiometric dating can take a hike.

So you can't address the points I made in my post?

I see.

So is "running away from the challenge" the kind of thing you do? I would find that interesting considering how much you whine when people don't respond to your other challenges.

I even lined it out for you so you could take it on one piece at a time. You couldn't even be bothered to do that.

You could have brought up a critique of radiometric dating (but you probably realized you'd be way out of your depth on that one), or you could have brought up a critique of the standard definition of "YEC". But since that's even harder to do, I suppose you found yourself quickly on the losing end of the debate so you start quoting miracle stories from the Bible which have nothing to do with the age of the earth or the points raised.

You don't understand what "a challenge" is do you? Even when you yourself make the challenge.

God, Who cannot lie, wrote the Bible in the first place.
Absolute nonsense. Which book did He write?

The Gospel According to Saint Matthew?
The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans?
The General Epistle of James?
The First Epistle of John?
The Revelation of Saint John the Divine?

These books all have authors names as titles, and none of them is Jehovah, Elohim, or YHWH.

Just to see if I could defend that position --- and I'm doing it with my Embedded Age rhetoric --- and to be honest, I don't feel qualified.

My pastor, who has two doctorates, is YEC, but I'm not; and like I've said before, I'm glad no YEC has ever challenged my Embedded Age paradigm, or I'd have my work cut out for me.

I thought it was your Pastor that taught you "embedded age?"
